By the time I realized the water was flowing the wrong direction, it had been a few hours. I used a water mod to try to force the water to flow west, by placing new water sources at each arm of the lake. This caused a tsunami in the area where Downtown Coeur D'Alene was supposed to go, and I was unable to force the water back to the lake.
I had a situation a couple months ago where I was playing a different city and was having trouble connecting services on either side of the river because the river was too deep. So I spent about twenty minutes modifying the river and its outlet while the game was on pause, and when I resumed it, another massive tsunami destroyed the city, taking 30-thousand people with it.
I haven't played this map since. Maybe I will later.
It's because I reversed polarity in my editor
No, seriously, I didn't know that... I hope it's not a gameplay breaking thing for you...
