Kotin tank (Object 279)

A heavy tank developed by the Soviet Union in the late 1950s, the Object 279 was designed to fight in extreme conditions and uneven terrain. To this end the Object 279 was designed with a four-track suspension on elevated beams and equipped with an external armor spaced shield that also prevented the tank from being flipped over by the shockwave of a nuclear explosion. Despite all this, by 1960 the Soviet Union had effectively abandoned heavy tanks, with Nikita Khrushchev cancelling all tank projects heavier than 37 tons. The Object 279 was cancelled with only three prototypes produced, only one of which survives today.
