Rocket League Ranking System explained (outdated)

This Guide explains everything in the ranking System you need to know.

Beginner Explanation

There are 7 Ranks in Rocket League (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Champion, Grand Champ).

Each of these is divided into 3 Ranks (Example for Platinum: Platinum 1, Platinum 2, Platinum 3).

All of these Ranks are divided into 4 smaller Groups called Divisions (Example for Platinum 2: Division I, Division II, Division III, Division IV).

Advanced Explanation

The real Rank System are Points called mmr.

Every Gamemode has their own mmr values(Example: To hit Platinum 1 in 2v2 ranked you need 772 mmr points. To hit Platinum 1 in 1v1 ranked you need 632 mmr points)

If you win a match, you will earn mmr points. If you lose a match, you will lose mmr points. If you play against somebody who has a much higher mmr than you, you will earn more mmr by winning than normal and you will lose less mmr by losing than normal. If you play against somebody who has much less mmr than you, you will earn less mmr by winning than normal and lose more mmr by losing than normal.

The only thing that matters to get mmr is winning or losing. Even if you lose a 1v3 where you have no chance to win, you will lose as much as mmr than you would do normally. If you forfeit you will lose the same amount of mmr.(You can forfeit a match when you have played one and a half minute of it.)

You can´t see your mmr in Rocket League without downloading a tool for it. One recommended tool you should download is "BakkesMod". You can see your mmr and can do lots of other stuff with it too.

You don´t need to download BakkesMod to watch your mmr, you also can watch your mmr online with any mmr tracker.
