About the building:
Rand Tower was finished construction in 1929 and was one of the tallest buildings in Minneapolis (and Minnesota), and defined the skyline, along with the Foshay Tower, Minneapolis City Hall and Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for decades. The tower was designed in the Art Moderne style by Chicago firm Holabird and Root, the same that designed the Board of Trade Buidling and the now demolished Nicollet Hotel. The building was designed for Rufus Rand, an aviator who served in World War I and owned part of the Minneapolis Gas Company (Minnegasco).

It was constructed with Indiana Bedford Limestone and was (if photographs and drawings are to be believed) a much brighter building than it is today. Indiana Bedford Limestone was also used to construct almost every capitol building in the United States.

It stands 26 stories tall and just a hair under 100m at 310 ft. Minneapolis City Hall was completed in 1906 and stands 104m tall, the Foshay Tower was completed the same year and is 137m tall, the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company Buidling was 105m tall at the time of construction in 1932. Then then 60's came when large glass and concrete buildings like the Pillsbury Center (now known as US Bank Plaza), International Multifoods Tower (now known as 33 South Sixth, and quite possibly the biggest eyesore in the city).

At the time the construction cost $130,000 (just $2,000,000 today). It was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1994.

In-Game information:
4x6 Level 3 Office Buidling
Construction cost: 50,000
Worker count: 250

Asset information:
This is quite a heavy asset in regards to triangles, and I suppose that has mainly to do with the fact that I made recessed windows. Ouch. I count 434 recessed windows which basically adds 3,500 triangles on top of the model itself. I probably could be a bit more efficient, maybe in the future I'll revisit this and make it more optimized.

Do I need RICO mod for this to work?

I love this building, it's such a perfect size! The only problem I have is that the LOD ends up looking like a 100% white shape. Is there any chance to increase the contrast or tone down the brightness of the LOD?

@Doomhero, thanks for the kind words! I'm working through mainly older (pre 1940) buildings/houses in Minneapolis before getting to some of the newer buildings.
