Hello peeps, I'm back with another network edit. This time, we're building on Ronyx's Terraforming Network. If you know what this is, I'll let you guys scroll down for what's new. If you're not sure what this is, move on to the next paragraph!

The Terraforming Network is basically a blank, invisible network (eg, road, wall, quay, etc.) that flattens terrain. You know how if you raise a road up with Move It, it brings up terrain and it looks like you've made a dam? Or you lower it and you've made a ditch? Well, sometimes its method of forcing terrain higher or lower is really useful, particularly because the game's terraforming tools use fairly big brushes, and is imprecise. If you want to see examples of uses, see the pictures.

Y NO USE TO TERRAFORM ANYTIME N ANYTHING??

These are networks, they can interfere with other stuff you try to place or build, so they are best used after you've plopped the main stuff and just want corrections to something glitchy or janky. Use them for the special cases they are meant for:

1. When you need finer control than terraforming tools allow.
2. When you need the strongest way to force a terrain height.
3. When you want clean edges to a plot of land.
4. When you want to make a very straight slope in terrain.

So What's Different About This One?
  • + "Extended" the network options from 1U to 12U widths.
  • + No underwater complaints! Use this anywhere on the map!
  • + Nodes now have smooth curves just like roads do.
  • + Terrain elevations overlay gets enabled when placing.
  • + High slope tolerance even without Fine Road Anarchy.
  • + All costs are 0. It's not your fault the construction company janked stuff up. :)
  • + Only the most practical ones are in the menus to not spam. Use Find It for the rest.
  • - Cannot be drawn too close to another terraforming network (use Move It!).
  • - Cannot use the upgrade tool to change the original one into these.

  • Simply hated flooding notifications? Toggle It! can disable it, but for the whole city.
  • I've heard a Node Controller mod can resize the original but don't know which one.

What's Included
U stands for unit; a square in the map's grid, same size as the zoning squares.
  • 0.5 U - Actually 1U because the game can't terraform less than that. The deal is it has very straight sides but most noticeable ONLY IF you happen to draw along the map grid. In other words, likely useless.
    Use Find It.
  • 1 U - The classic size.
    It's in the menu.
  • 2 U - Classic, but double, no cheese.
    It's in the menu. And what's for dinner.
  • 4 U - Probably the widest you'll reasonably need. It's the last you get in-game.
    It's last on the menu.
  • 6 U - Wide enough that the game's terraforming tools can likely work for you. But just in case you need the cleaner slope, forced elevation, and don't mind a network doing it and you're sure it won't annoy you…here you go. Moar for u.
    Use Find It.
  • 8 U - Same as above.
    Use Find it
  • 12 U - Who would need this??
    Use Find It.

@jas1kk & Sleeper___: No, it's real. I didn't know Mass Transit added new canals so that one I used as a template ended up bring from Mass Transit. :( If I manage to get back to regular CS1 content like YT and streaming, I may make another that doesn't need Mass Transit.

@mikef4, Sorry I only saw this now. Any luck? Have you tried with Find it? Yeah, I'm definitely afraid it's the same problem I myself had. If you're still having problems, I'll try to take a look myself soon and see if anything changed!

Am I missing something? When I first subscribed to this asset I do remember seeing them in the menu. When I finally got to the point where I needed them, they had disappeared from menu. I unsubscribed and subscribed again but still don't see them. I did notice a post from Sp3ctre18 from 2/18/2022 asking about a similar situation. Has anyone had this happen to them? How can I fix this problem? Thanks

@Sp3ctre18 I wish you good luck with your move and that everything works out, fingers crossed.

And btw, it's true what qstar.inc said: with Skyve you can turn off the DLC completely - as if you didn't have it at all.

@Sp3ctre18 That's not the case anymore if using Skyve to disable mods/DLCs; they are not even accessed by the game launcher so it's like they don't even exist.

@OlexX: I don't know, haha. I was alerted to the requirement by a user who couldn't use it without the DLC, so as you said, I guess there's a small possibility that something changed. But I also dob't really know how disabling DLCs work. Disabled mods can still have some of its code run, so maybe DLCs are the same? The code that relates to the MT canals was accessible by this network? *shrugs*

I'll try to look into it in time, but right now I'm undergoing a big move to another country so it'll be a while.

Out of curiosity, do share if there's a video of that collab thing!

Hi, I participated in the Collab 81 of BonBonB and also used these networks. I turned off the Mass Transit DLC and was able to use the networks without any problems. Are you sure that the DLC is still needed? Has something been changed in a game update? Unfortunately, the content management no longer shows whether an asset requires DLC.
