Acrid's Guide to Monsoon Obliterate

This is an overall guide for Acrid Obliteration on Monsoon difficulty (Stage 8+)

Overview

This is my personal guide to consistently get stage 8+ on Acrid on Monsoon Difficulty.
In this guide, i'll cover what the bulk of your items should be focused around (Command Artifact) and What skills you should take over the others.
This is all based off of my experience with Acrid and all my playtime in game too.
I'll also cover my playstyle with Acrid and how to use him to what I believe is his full potential and some tips here and there.

Acrid and his Skills.

Overall the best skill combo for my playstyle and how I play Acrid consists of

• Blight
  
• Vicious Wounds
  
• Neurotoxin
  
• Caustic Leap
  
• Epidemic

I use this specific skill setup for aoe and crowd control vs large hordes of enemies and overall dps

This skill setup will allow you to hit one enemy with epidemic in the middle of a swarm, blight up to 20x enemies, then proc all on hit items at once with the epidemic shot and, dive in with your Caustic Leap and leap back out to clean up the stragglers with some M1's or M2's. Rinse & Repeat.

The Build.

Whites

• At least 5x Goat hoof
  
• At least 10x Tougher Times for 60% block chance which will be needed the later the run goes on
  
• 5-10x Soldier's Syringe for some good ole attack speed (Prioritise Tougher Times)
  
• 3x Gasoline (Will be used for Death Mark)
  
• 3x Tri tip dagger (Again for Death Mark)
  
• 3-5x Topaz Brooch for the extra shield
  
• 9x Lens Maker's Glasses for obvious reasons (only 9 stacks as PI and HS will provide the other 10%)
  
• 2-5x Backup Mag (haha doggo go spit)

After you get these essential items to the build you can grab Repulsion plates, Fresh Meat, Monster necklace etc to make Acrid more of a Tank.

Priority Order

• 5x Tougher Times
  
• 5x Lens Maker's Glasses
  
• 2-5x Goat hoof
  
• 4x Lens Maker's Glasses
  
• 5x Tougher Times
  
• 3-5x Topaz Brooch
  
• 1x Backup Mag

After this stack the rest of the recommended white's and Acrid should already be pretty Beefy

Greens

• 1x Deathmark
  
• 3x Predatory Instincts (One adds a hidden 5% Crit Chance)
  
• 3-5x Harvesters Scythe (One adds a hidden 5% Crit Chance)
  
• At least 1x Ukulele
  
• At least 5x ATG missile launcher
  
• At least 5x Will o' wisp
  
• 2-3x Hopoo Feather (Of course the Dev's named the double jump item after themselves)
  
• 2x Wax Quail (The extra momentum is extremely useful in staying alive during a run)
  
• 3x Runald's and Kjaro's Band (These are nice to have for proc chains)
  
• 1-2x Berzerker Pauldron
  
• At least 1x Old Guillotine
  
• Infusions are nice for the extra health, stack as many as you see fit (I personally grab 3)

After these essential items, grab whatever other greens you want or continue to stack ATG's as their damage will start to drop off along with Will o' wisp etc...

Priority Order

• 1x Ukulele
  
• 2x ATG
  
• 2x Will o' Wisp
  
• 1x Wax Quail
  
• 1x Hopoo Feather
  
• 1x PI and HS

After this just stack the rest of the greens recommended and mosey on your way to Ob town

Reds

• 2-3x Ceremonial Daggers (Busted rn)
  
• 1x Brilliant Behemoth (60% damage boost)
  
• 1-2x Tesla Coil (Aoe)
  
• 1x Shattering Justice
  
• 1-3x 57 Leaf Clover (Proc Chains)
  
• 1x Alien Head (Cooldowns go zoom)

Priority Order

• 1x Shattering Justice (Death mark and just extra DPS)
  
• 1x 57 Leaf Clover
  
• 1x Tesla Coil
  
• 1x Brilliant Behemoth

After you get these reds, stack the rest and you'll be melting enemies in no time!

Tips and Tricks

• You can use Acrid's leap to traverse the map and it scales with movement speed
  
• Acrid's Leap can be used to negate fall damage
  
• Acrid's Leap does tons of damage when used to leap through bosses, so stand below them aim up and let that doggo fly
  
• Max his attack speed early on by attacking once, sprinting to cancel the animation, then rinse and repeat (timing takes practice but is 100% worth the extra DPS early game
  
• Visions of Heresy should be used to replace his melee late game as going in for melee is risky and not worth it.
  
  
  

Conclusion

Acrid is a very fun mobile tanky brawler who should use his aoe potential to it's full extent by maximizing how many enemies are hit by epidemic,
He should use his M2 for primarily wisp's and ranged enemies that are a pain to reach with melee or his leap,
Focus on staying on the move while dealing constant dot damage with his leap, m2 and epidemic.
Overall Acrid is a well rounded beefy melee character with ranged opportunities.

so i know this thread is older now, but im noticing some of the priority orders are missing what seems like key items in the build. Am i missing something here?

clarifying for those who dont know, blight is weaker than poison overall since it depends only on your own damage.

poison deals damage based on the enemy's max hp if it would result in a higher damage than your base damage.

use blight if you cant be bothered finishing off the enemies, but for bosses and tanky enemies, poison's always gonna be better

Is Blight objectively better than Poison?

Loop once if you want, dont need all the items stacked to the max. These are items mainly to look for in multishops and printers etc. Just good items :)
