Introduction
Greetings General,
The Air Recon reports on Enemy Field Strength have returned, and we are now able to examine the quality of Axis Divisions. For better understanding of the information below, please read the following keys:

The Unit strength descriptions are as follows:
3(+0/1 spec)/ 4(+0 spec)= Understrength Unit
4(+1 spec)/ 5(+0)spec= Regular Unit
5(+1 spec)/ 6(+0 spec)= Fresh Unit
6(+1 spec)/ 7(+0/1 spec)= Reinforced Unit
Fresh experience Units of various sizes (0 spec) who guard an area (usually obj) = Garrison
Unit Nationalities: For any Non German unit, the following abbreviations will be displayed next to it.
(IT)=Italian
(HG)=Hungarian
(CR)=Croatian
(kr)=Croatian formed along German lines
Other miscellaneous:
(mot.)=Motorised unit
Strength Description/Garrison=Static German Infantry Unit
HG= Hermann Goring Division, a unique division named after the Reichsmarschall and head of the Luftwaffe, intially Fallschirmjagers but then became a tank unit.
FjD= Fallschirmjagers are German Soldiers trained in Paratroop operations, but due to Allied air superiority and increasing high command scepticism fight as elite infantry.
GEB= German Gebirgsjagers are German soldiers skilled at mountain warfare, meaning that they can move effectively through mountainous terrain.
JgD= Jager Units are Infantry units specialised for manouvre and attack, originally trained to fight in forests but generally adept on various terrains.
General, please also note that the intel reports date from the start of a campaign. German Generals have an unfortunate habit of beefing up small units such as local garrisons with any stragglers or reserves, resulting in our troops running into a nasty surprise.
African Campaign (Wadi Akarit, Tunis)
This campaign has the aim of destroying the Axis Forces in Tunisia, in order to prepare an invasion of Italy, the 'soft underbelly of Europe'

Wadi Akarit

The objective for this battle is the capture of the coastal towns of Sfax and Enfidaville. The Axis units are understrength as a result of the long retreat, and should pose little threat, although their armoured formations are still capable of disrupting supplies if a gap in the line is found.
Enemy Units are as follows:

DAK- Cramer
10 Panzer Division-Understrength 3(0)
21 Panzer Division- Understrength 4(0)
Pz-Gr Regiment 'Afrika'- Understrength 3(0)
KG 'Lang'- Understrength 4(0)
131 DC 'Centauro' (IT)- Understrength 4(0)
The DAK is badly weakened after the battle of Kasserine and is positioned against the US II Corps around El Guettar and Maknassey Pass. They are vulnerable to encirclement if the Italian 1st Army can be broken and you choose to exploit any gaps in their line. The majority of German Armour is concentrated in this formation so don't let them break through weak points in the line.

1st Army(IT)- Messe
1 DF 'Superga' (IT)- Fresh 6(1)
16 DM 'Pistoia' (IT)- Standard 5(0)
80 DF '(La)Spezia' (IT)- Standard 5(0)

15 Panzer Division- Understrength 3(0)
90. L. Afr Division- Understrength 4(0)
164 L. Afr Division- Understrength 4(0)
The 1st Italian Army is mainly made up of Italian Infantry, with some German Armour and Mech units. It guards the southern flank of the DAK against the British 8th Army. It is unlikely to be able to hold off the British Army if sustained pressure is placed on it.

5th Panzer Army- Von Arnim
999th Afrika Division(mot.)- Understrength 3(1)
Sich. Abteilung 334-Understrength 3(1)
KG 'Wolf'- Understrength 3(1)
Gruppe 'Fullreide'- Understrength 3(0)
30 Corps (IT)- Understrength 3(1)
91. Regiment (IT)- Understrength 3(1)
Coastal Garrison Enfidaville-Garrison 1(0)
Coastal Garrison Sousse 1(0)
Coastal Garrison Sfax 1(0)
The 5th Panzer Army has been badly damaged as a result of Kasserine, and has been reduced to numerous understrength Kampfgruppes, the Italian XXX Corps has been similarly damaged, with its remaining forces being an infantry command, a reserve formation and the 91st Regiment. Although the 5th Panzer Army is weakened, the 1st British Army lacks the strength to directly overpower them, and caution must be taken to prevent the tanks from the 1st Italian running haywire.
Units which have been removed since the previous battle: None as this is the first mission

Tunis

The objective for this battle is the capture of the two major Tunisian cities still in Axis hands, these being Tunis and Bizerte. Since Wadi, the Axis have received reinforcements and several new units. These reinforcements have allowed the Axis to dig in on the mountainous terrain protecting the heartland of Tunisia.

164 L. Afr Division-Understrength 4 (0)
The Italian 1st Army is dug in along the Djebel Bargou and Djebel Zaghouan mountains and holds the flank of the 5th Panzer Army along the south Bank of the Meliane River. It faces off against the British 8th Army, which has had most of its units transferred to the British 1st Army. It is recommended that attacks on this front be secondary to the assault further north.

Abs. 'Tunis'- Understrength 3(0) local Garrisons mustered together
Abs. 'Bizerte'- Understrength 3(0) local Garrisons mustered together
KV 'Bizerte- Understrength 2 (0) local Garrisons mustered together
The 5th Panzer Army has recieved 2 new Divisions, including the Hermann Goring Fallschirm Division from German High Command, and has also received the Panzer Divisions of the DAK as well as some Italian Infantry from the Italian 1st Army. Von Arnim has even mustered local garrisons as makeshift units. However, the fact remains that the 5th Panzer Army is still outnumbered by the British 1st Army and US 2nd Corps, and lacks good defensive terrain. The area to the South of Longstop Hill provides a good opportunity for a Tank Breakthrough, and German Armour is weak enough to be defeated by a concentrated assault force of several divisions.
Units which have been removed since the previous battle:
Pz-Gr Regiment Afrika has probably been reintegrated to a Panzer Division
Gruppe 'Fullreide' and Kampfgruppes 'Lang' and 'Wolf' have probably also been absorbed by Division level units.
Abs Benigni, Sich Abt. 334 and the Coastal Garrisons- These local units will have been destroyed or absorbed into larger formations during the previous battle.
91 Regiment (IT) reintegrated or destroyed-maybe part of 30 Corps (rem) for this battle

Sicilian and South Italian Campaign (Husky, Avalanche, Volturno Line)
Husky

The objectives for this Battle is the capture of the Main Italian Ports on Sicily, Syracuse and Messina. The capture of ports along the West Hand side of the Island is advised in order to supply Allied troops in this battle as well as those to come. The Axis have lost a substantial number of troops in North Africa, but have mustered several German Divisions in the area, with more slowly arriving.

The Italian 6th Army is spread around the Sicilian Coast, with many of its units being either Naval and Port Garrisons, or Coastal Defense Divisions (designated as DC 200<) . Its strongest units are concentrated in the West of the Island, but several units in the East could be a nuisance, if they support the Germans.

Axis Units which have been removed since the previous battle: Every Unit from the previous mission has been destroyed, as part of the mass surrender of Axis Forces in Tunisia, although many of the German Units will eventually be reformed and participate in later battles against the Allies.

Avalanche

Your Objectives for this battle are the capture of the cities of Foggia and Napoli(Naples), which would give our Armies a stable line to advance slowly up the Italian peninsula . The secural of a line between Ortona and the Northern side of the Garagliano River would assist our troops in any forthcoming operations.

The 10th Army has absorbed the XIV Corps and has also 7 additional divisions of its own, these including no less than 5 armoured or mechanised units. This makes the 10th Army a highly mobile opponent which could pose a serious threat to our landing at Salerno, if it becomes over extended. The weakest point in the 10th Army's defenses is easily the South East, where several Kampfgruppes of the 1 FjD are scattered among the important points of the area, making them easy pickings for the 1st British Airborne.

Axis Units which have been removed since the previous battle: All the Italian troops have disbanded after Italy's surrender, the 2 German Kampfgruppe will have been reabsorbed into their parent units.

Volturno Line

Your objectives for this battle are (assuming you captured neither Ortana nor the bridgehead along the Garigliano River) the capture of key positions which control the Garigliano, Rapido and Sangro Rivers, which form the centre of the German's Volturno defensive line. Additionally the capture of the town of Pescara and the breach of the Gustav Line (the main German Defensive line), would give our troops an advantage in future operations, and potentially open the way to an eased assault on Rome. These objectives must be achieved by the two pronged advance of the British 8th up the Adriatic Coast, and the US 5th up the Tyrrhenian Coast.

The 10th Army has received 3 Divisions from their high command, and have now stopped their gradual retreat from our forces. They occupy superb defensive ground, with 2 lines. The Volturno line seems to be made up off the Armoured Divisions acting as a rearguard, but the Infantry is heavily dug in along the Gustav line. Our objectives could be difficult to take due to potential German armoured counterattacks, as well as the logistical issues of transporting supplies over rivers where the Germans have destroyed key bridges. It is therefore recommended to isolate and destroy German Armoured Units as soon as possible. It is also notable that the 10th Army has a Brigade of the SS fighting in this battle. These units receive the highest quality equipment but are notorious for their savage behaviour on the battlefield, committing horrific war crimes against prisoners and civilians alike.
Axis Units which have been removed since the previous battle: The 1st FjD has been reunited with the Kampfgruppes that had been occupying south east Italy. The Local Garrisons and Luftwaffe troops have been reabsorbed by parent units.
Central Italian Campaign (Monte Cassino, 4th Cassino, Roads from Rome)
This campaign aims to break through the Gustav line, capture Rome, and advance into Northern Italy. This campaign structure assumes that you fail to capture Rome Early.

Monte Cassino

Your objectives for this battle (again assuming you captured neither the Breach in the Gustav Line nor Pescara) are the capture of the towns of Anzio and Cassino. Operation Shingle (The Anzio Naval Landings) aims to establish a beachhead around the towns of Anzio and Nettuno. From there it is hoped that the US 5th will be able to capture Rome, the capital of Italy. Another target for this offensive is the Monastery at Monte Cassino, held by German Mountaineers (Historically Fallschirmjagers). The British 8th must hold on to the town of Ortona and can make a second attack on Pescara if suitable.

Blocking Unit 'Bode'- Understrength 4 (0) formed from stragglers to prevent further retreat
The 10th Army has only been pushed back a few miles from its positions on the Volturno lines and continues to hold strong positions. It will be overstretched by the Anzio landings, but the constant reinforcements (up to 16 divisions) mean that the window for opportunity remains small. Cutting the rail links between Rome and the Frontline around Cassino would be effective but difficult, due to the continued presence of Armoured units in the area. However many of these armoured units have been recalled to the Eastern Front, so an advance would not be immediately wiped out.
Axis Units which have been removed since the previous battle: 16th Panzer Division, 2nd FjD have been sent to the Eastern Front. Brigade RFSS is being reformed into a new divisional command and preparing to occupy Hungary in Operation Magarethe.

4th Cassino

Your objectives are to capture the monastery strongpoint of Monte Cassino, which has been bombed to rubble and then occupied by German Troops, and also to capture Rome, liberating the Italian capital from Axis control. This will require the defeat of the 10th Army, who are entrenched heavily in our way. Furthermore the Germans have established a defensive line around the beachhead at Anzio, making the hoped for breakout impossible until our substantial reserves can push the enemy out of their entrenchments

The 14th Army is positioned around the Anzio beachhead attempting to stall the advance. It possesses the only armoured unit still in the Italian theatre, but has only a light line of defences against the advancing forces. If the 10th Army can be dislodged from the north bank of the Garigliano, then advancing US troops can outflank the 14th Army and link up with the beachhead, guaranteeing an Allied victory.
Axis Units which have been removed since the previous battle: Panzer Division 'HG' is refitting. 62 ID (305 ID as well?) was never in the Italian Campaign historically and is fighting on the Eastern Front. 334 ID is committing war crimes in Northern Italy.

Roads from Rome

Your objectives are the capture of the numerous towns and cities that dot the central Italian plains, to the Livorno-Ancona line. The Campaign hinges around the 3 Railroads that travel from Rome to the North, with their capture a priority for the campaign.Due to our inability to envelop the defenders of the Barbata line, the Germans have extracted most of them and have begun a step by step retreat, that must be disrupted in order for progress to be made.

The 10th Army faces the British along the Eastern and Central Italian Railroads. In the East, the 10th Army has a group of relatively high quality Infantry Divisions who are able to fall back to successive lines of natural defences. By contrast, the parts of the 10th Army that defend the Central Railroad are overextended and understrength, vulnerable to an armoured attack.

The 14th Army faces off against the American 5th with a large number of weak Panzergrenadier and Infantry Units. It has received fresh reserves, including the first full SS Division on the Western Fronts. Despite this, the 14th Army will struggle due to a lack of defensive terrain, meaning that its reinforced divisions can be isolated by an Armoured push.
Central Italian Campaign {Alt} (Rush for the Apennines, Roads from Rimini)
This Alt campaign occurs if you capture Rome during the Monte Cassino scenario, and units will be adjusted accordingly.
Rush for the Apennines

Congratulations General on your swift capture of Rome. Your objectives for this battle are the capture of the North Italian plains to the Apennines and the city of Rimini in the Romagna. This campaign revolves around the capture of several railroads which can effectively supply our troops as they advance. However the speed with which we captured Rome has alarmed the German High Command, which has redistributed several strong reserve units in order to hold Northern Italy.

The 10th Army has been reduced to a tiny portion of its former self, with a mere 3 Divisions, mostly of poor quality. The British 8th Army should be able to push it aside easily as it advances up the Adriatic coast although the numerous defensive positions may allow it to perform delaying actions.

Overlord
Your objective is the capture of Caen and Bayeux near the landing zones, as well as Barneville on the west coast of the Cotentin peninsula, in order to isolate the city of Cherbourg. Additionally the capture of strategically valuable positions such as St Lo and Caen would improve your situation in future battles, while the port of Cherbourg would ease potential logistical problems.

The 7th Army is vast, but it includes a large number of small makeshift units as well as static infantry which perform poorly compared to the more regular infantry previously seen. The biggest threat that the 7th Army can muster immediately is the 17th SS which can do substantial damage if left unchecked. Later reinforcements of Panzer Divisons may hinder attempts to capture Bonus objectives like St Lo.

However the arrival of the 2nd Fallschirm Korps means that battle hardened Fallschirmjagers now slow the advance of the Americans down the Peninsula.

Normandy Breakout

This Campaign aims to finally break out of the Normandy Defenses, and capture all of Northern France, including Paris and the major cities on the Loire Plain. Additionally the Ports of Brittany should be considered a military target as they would allow an improvement in the supply situation.

North Italian Campaign {Alt} (Lombardy-Liguria,Ljubljana Gap)
In this campaign your objectives are to mop up the remaining Italians with the Americans, while pushing into the region of Slovenia with the British. This is due to disagreement in Allied High Command over the correct way to exploit the situation. Note that the Ljublana Gap requires you to have captured Trieste in Roads from Rimini but Lombardy-Liguria shows up if you only capture Rome Early.

Your objectives are the cities of Antwerp and Liege in Belgium, as well as the city of Luxembourg. If you need additional supply, the capture of a channel port would be helpful. Low Countries Campaign (Market Garden,Scheldt)
This campaign focuses on the secural of Antwerp by clearing the Scheldt river as well as attempting to establish a bridgehead into northern Germany through the Zuiderzee. Please note that if you complete the scheldt objective in Advance to Antwerp, then the Scheldt scenario doesn't appear
Market Garden
The primary objectives for this mission is the capture of Eindhoven and Nijmegen, sites of key bridges across the region. Arnhem is also a key objective, but it has been suggested that this may be too difficult to capture so is not necessary for success. The capture of the Zuiderzee will open a bridgehead into Northern Germany and allow an assault in that direction, rather than through the Siegfried Line.

The Battle of the Bulge
Sir, 2 full Panzer Armies have broken our front in the Ardennes, and have made a concerted push towards the channel coast. Fortunately a lack of fuel has slowed their advance and allows us to recover the situation. We believe that this represents the last gasp of German offensive forces on the Western Front, so victory here spells doom for the Germans in their defence of Germany proper.
In order to successfully absorb and defeat this attack, we need to hold the encircled city of Bastogne as well as the Crossings over the Meuse, to prevent a further advance. In addition, preventing German advance on either side of the 'Bulge' by holding Liege, Luxembourg and Strassbourg. If possible, holding the forward position at Hagenau on the bank of the Rhine will give a good place to launch off in future offensives. Capturing a large number of prisoners will weaken German ability to resist future operations in this area.

The Germans have prepared a vast armoured attack against our Breakout in the North Rhine, which they have codenamed 'Autumn Wind'. West German Campaign {Alt} (Ruhr Assault,Battle for Bavaria)
(This is the 3rd part of the missions that follow from the Exploit the Rhine Bridgehead decision (see Bridgehead Campaign for more details.) In this campaign we will take advantage of the failure of Autumn Wind in order to seize the Industrial Heartland of Germany as well as the South, in order to divide Germany in two.
Ruhr Assault
Your objectives are the capture of the major cities of the Ruhr, Additionally 1st US Army should also aim to seize a stronghold to the south of the Ruhr at Leverkusen and beat back the 5th Panzer Army around Siegen as quickly as possible.

The 7th Army holds the Northern sector against the British 2nd Army. It has lost much of its armoured firepower, which has been replaced by the infantry of the 1st Parachute Army and some mechanised SS divisions. If a crossing can be made against these forces, then cutting the railroad into the Ruhr would greatly weaken German logistics.

A rapid overwhelming of the forces here would allow an encirclement of the 25th Army, making the capture of the Rhine a lot easier.

Your objectives are the annihilation of the Red Army and the capture of the major Polish cities on the West Bank of the Dnieper. Additionally the quick seizure of major bridges over the Oder will free up logistical resources to accelerate our push. This is it Sir, All or Nothing!

Rokossovsky's First Belorussian Front occupies the Northern Area from the Baltic Sea to the Northern Edge of the Stettin Pocket. The Soviet Rifle Corps are only slightly larger than our standard infantry divisions and this formation lacks armour so a swift strike to capture Stettin and cut off supply should'nt be impossible. However caution in pushing across the Oder is advised as survivors of Rokossovsky's Front can link up with Armoured formations from the Reserve Front.

Zhukovs 2nd Belorussian Front covers the East Bank of the Elbe and Oder rivers as well as a pocket over them at Grunburg. It is a vast formation but lacks a concentration of artillery and tanks to effectively counter attack any strong pushes we make. Additionally the Polish 1st Army formerly under Soviet Control has revolted and seized the bridge at Grunberg, which will temporarily reduce their capacity to reinforce Grunberg. But beware the tanks of the 1st Ukrainian Front which protect the 2nd Belorussians flanks.

The 1st Ukrainian is without doubt the most formidable of Stalin's fronts, containing most of the Elite Soviet Infantry and Armour. They occupy the east bank of the Elbe between Grunberg and Breslau, apart from 2 Armies who occupy the area around Berlin as well as the Western part of the city. This puts Konev in a slight quandary as he is unable to effectively command these elements without repositioning his personal command which would reduce the operational capacity of the units that remain around the river.

The 4th Ukrainian Front is the weakest of the Fronts, and occupies an vulnerable position in Upper Silesia without cover from the Oder river. A small formation that lacks tanks it should be a prime target for assault from the US 5th and French 1st, but will be able to receive some support from the 1st and 2nd Ukrainian fronts to prevent a complete collapse.

The 2nd Ukrainian is another formidable front, however its capabilities are limited by the fact that its forces are stretched out between a frontline force in Eastern Silesia and several formations garrisoning Central and Southern Poland. This means that while the formation does possess substantial armour its capacity to launch offensive engagements against our units is limited and the formation will likely be forced back to the Oder before it can make an effective stand with its armoured reserves.

The Reserve Front as the name suggests is positioned to the rear of the main Red Army formations, covering the supply from potential airborne landings. Their tank contingent is positioned in the North and will likely attempt to reinforce 2nd Belorussian when possible. Most of their Infantry is unspectacular but a few elite units possess some of the newer Soviet equipment and are well dug in major Polish cities, providing our forces with another challenge once the spearhead has been defeated.
Closing Remarks- Finished 22/12/22
Hope this is helpful and that you enjoyed. I will be working on the Blitzkrieg one and potentially others in the future if i can be bothered.
Thanks
