How do I stop myself getting angry when playing games?
By fer1next and 1 collaborators
You first have to ask yourself one major question:

What about the game is making you angry?

Are you playing a single-player adventure game and can’t get past a tough boss?
Are you playing a competitive online game and can’t manage to hit the next skill tier?
For anyone who has ever taken a game seriously, these types of situations are absolutely commonplace. And feeling angry about them is, too.

Whenever you get angry, ask yourself this question:

What about the game do you really like?

If you’re getting angry playing a game, it probably means that you like it. In fact, it probably means that you like it a lot. When things aren’t going your way, it’s easy to say “I hate this game!”, “I’m never going to play this game again.”

You will. We both know you will.

A couple years ago I spent a considerable amount of time trying to climb the ranked ladder in Hearthstone. The tension increased after all my friends started hitting Legend rank before me.

I didn’t want to be the low man on the totem-pole, but for a while I was. And I was angry about it. I started rage-quitting matches. I started uninstalling the game from my PC after losses, only to re-install five minutes later. I started to develop negative feelings towards my friends who had passed me by.

Things only turned around when I admitted to myself that, despite my frustration, I loved the game. I loved the artwork. I loved the music. I loved its design. I realized that one of the reasons we play games in the first place is to escape a real-world that we don’t necessarily love as much as the worlds of our favorite games.

Now think back to what it is about the game that makes you angry. Stuck on that boss? Can’t rank up? Your love for the game will carry you through, if you let it. It may take time, but it will happen.

Whenever you get angry, remember you love the game.

Chill , Life looks like a candy
Do you want to be that chill person in your friend group that never sweats the small stuff and just enjoys their life?
It can seem hard but it's really not! Read the directions below to get some great ideas for chilling out and making the most out of your life.

stay away from toxic people and situations.
Avoiding such things is the best way to be chill in life.
just say no to all the bullies, liars, and trash-talkers.
You don't need that in your life! Cut toxic people out of your life and don't go around causing trouble yourself

1. Ask yourself if this even really matters.

By asking yourself the wrong questions you can make any little thing into a huge problem. By asking yourself better questions you can see things from a more helpful perspective.

Who cares? Very simple. Asking yourself this makes you realize that no, this isn’t a big deal to fuss or worry about.
Will this matter 5 years from now? If you ask yourself this question you will discover that if you put
something into a more healthy perspective then few things matter that much.

2. Get a life.

If you find yourself sitting around too much and not having enough to do then it’s very easy to get stuck in thought loops and go into a downward spiral. Simply by filling your life with more fun activities and people you can become a lot more relaxed and less prone to overreacting about the little things.

So spend less time analyzing life and more time living and exploring it in whatever way you’d like. By doing so you are also often confronted with having to expand your comfort zones and perhaps face a fear. This leads to better self confidence and less fretting about if you can handle things that may come up.

3. What would someone else do?

This is a good way to find a new and more useful perspective. You simply ask yourself what someone else would do in your situation.

Maybe you ask yourself:

What would Winnie the Pooh do?
What would James Bond do?
What would mom or dad do?
The point is to play around and find a new perspective and drag yourself out of your current negative, stressed and confused headspace and see things in another light. Just doing that can often help you to calm down, realize that this isn’t a huge deal and help you to find a solution that you can apply.

4. Remember to keep things extremely simple.

At the very top of the whiteboard on my wall I have written down: “Keep things extremely simple”. This is a very useful thing to remind yourself of throughout any day. Whenever I feel I am making a thing bigger or more complicated than it is or I simply become confused or negative in some way I can look at the wall (or remember that sentence if I’m not at home) to help guide my thoughts back into a constructive and calm place.
