"City Slicker" Achievement: Promethea Named Locations
Από DALCOhstangultion
This guide lists and maps all 43 named locations on Promethea in Borderlands 3. I produced it because the game currently tends to refuse giving the "City Slicker" Achievement for finding all of Promethea's locations. This is happening even though a person's Promethea planetary map lists all 43 out of 43 named locations found and each of the individual Promethea local maps also shows all named locations found. It's an attempt to make retracing tracks through that world a bit easier.

Introduction
City Slicker:
Discover all named locations on Promethea.

Objective:
I've seen many posts that the "City Slicker" Achievement in Borderlands 3 is bugged and is not getting awarded even though Promethea's Planet Progress statistics show 43/43 named locations found. Because of this, many people are having to revisit all 43 locations in an attempt to get the Achievement to pop. I've done my best to design this guide to help those people revisit all those name locations and get the Achievement. Of course, people who just need a bit of help here and there with the Achievement can use it too, but I tend to assume the player is way overpowered for the areas and has full access to all locations.

Important Note:
  • As I write this, it looks like Borderlands 3 is resetting the "discovered" status of all named locations when the player visits Sanctuary or quits the game (either to the main game menu or entirely). So, if you're trying to get the Achievement, you'll need to revisit all 43 locations in one session (and don't go to Sanctuary in the middle of things).
  • Also, if you've finished the game at least once and are going through just to get the Achievement, I highly recommend you turn Mayhem Mode off (either in Sanctuary or from your character's menu). That will drop enemies back down to the normal area level caps instead of bringing them up to yours. IOW, running straight through the enemies instead of fighting them will be much easier.

References:
If you want a slightly different look at Promethea's named locations, I recommend Powerpyx's work at:

https://www.powerpyx.com/borderlands-3-promethea-all-named-locations/

The maps I'm using are from:

https://mapgenie.io/borderlands-3/maps/promethea

I definitely recommend that site since you can interact with the maps and customize them in many ways. Note that some of the location markers are incorrect on my screenshots. I have no control over their placement, but will try to mention it when I can. Also, in the material below, I'll refer to the cardinal directions as north, east, south and west as they appear on those screenshots. AFAIK, our main maps in the game don't indicate cardinal directions (though the mini-map does show "N" for north).

Be warned that this guide contains major spoilers since it shows every named location on Promethea and what the maps look like.

Also, in case you're using a 21:9 resolution (as I do) and can't see the full legends/instructions on the maps, you can find your total number of found named locations on Promethea by doing the following:
  1. Hit "M" to bring up the local map
  2. Hit "X" until you get to the Galaxy map
  3. Select Promethea
  4. Hit "R" to bring up the Planet Progress statistics.
You can also hit "R" on any of your other maps to see that map's Progress statistics.

Promethea's Zones:
There are 8 zones listed on Promethea's planetary map in Borderlands 3. In the order they show up in my map, they are:
  1. Meridian Outskirts (3 named locations)
  2. Meridian Metroplex (6 named locations)
  3. Lectra City (8 named locations)
  4. Skywell-27 (8 named locations)
  5. Atlas HQ (9 named locations)
  6. Neon Arterial (6 named locations)
  7. The Forgotten Basilica (2 named locations)
  8. Cistern of Slaughter (1 named location)
Though that order is what the game shows me, it might not be the best order to try going back through to get the Achievement. But, I'll try to note any difficulties below. I've ordered the sections below the same way. Also, I've ordered the named locations in those areas by my best guess at a good way to run through the area and visit all of them. In general, I'm assuming the best starting point is a Fast Travel location near a Catch-A-Ride.

Also, it looks like Meridian Outskirts is the only map on Promethea that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you're sure you've already discovered all the named locations here, you might be able to save a few minutes by deferring this map until after you've tried all the rest.
Meridian Outskirts (3 named locations)
The 3 named locations in Meridian Outskirts are:
  1. Edge of Meridian
  2. Fort Pissof
  3. The Spillways
There are two Fast Travel locations in Meridian Outskirts. Start at Drop Pod. From there, run to the north until you get Edge of Meridian as the area opens up. Fast travel to the plain Meridian Outskirts location and you should get Fort Pissof. Run out into the open area and you should get The Spillways as that area opens up.

Also, it looks like Meridian Outskirts is the only map on Promethea that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you're sure you've already discovered all the named locations here, you might be able to save a few minutes by deferring this map until after you've tried all the rest.
Meridian Metroplex (6 named locations)
The 6 named locations in Meridian Metroplex are:
  1. Watershed Base
  2. Rise and Grind Coffeehouse
  3. Halcyon Suborbital Spaceport
  4. Knoxx Station
  5. Meridian Mercentile
  6. Titan's Gate
First, ignore the markers at the southwest corner of the map. Those are in another area and are just an artifact of how the maps were laid out.

The Fast Travel location in Meridian Metroplex is in the mid-southern part of the map. From there, walk across the room to get Watershed Base. Then come back and head down the stairs to the Catch-A-Ride. Grab a vehicle, head north, turn right at the intersection, go through the tunnel and turn right to the Rise and Grind Coffeehouse. Go directly across the street and get the Halcyon Suborbital Station. Then go back past the coffeehouse and the tunnel you came in from to a tunnel heading west. At the first open area stop and get out of your vehicle. Go north towards the Lectra City transfer. At the first open area, you should get Knoxx Station.

Note: In case you haven't found Cistern of Slaughter yet, from your car, head down the ramp to the south and bear right. Near the end of that area, you'll find a corridor that will take you to the Cistern's transfer point. If you want to be able to fast travel there in the future, you'll have to enter that transfer point at least once.

Get back in your vehicle from where you left it earlier and continue through the tunnel to the west and past an intersection. You'll have to get out of your vehicle when the road hits some barricades.
About halfway to the end of the tunnel, there'll be an area on the left (bracketed by two ramps) that should get you Meridian Mercantile. Then come back to your car, go back to the intersection, turn left and continue to the end towards the Atlas HQ transfer point. Just before you reach the Catch-A-Ride at the end of the road, you'll have to get out of your vehicle and walk into the area on your left. That should get you Titan's Gate.
Lectra City (8 named locations)
The 8 named locations in Lectra City are:
  1. Meridian Seaport
  2. Market Quarter
  3. Big Dock Energy
  4. The Plant
  5. The Bone Zone
  6. The Hills
  7. Downtown Square
  8. The Underpass
The Fast Travel location is at the northeast corner of the map. Head up the stairs into the first open area and get Meridian Seaport. Follow the main road south to the next open area and you should get Market Quarter just after making the bend to the right. Turn right and follow the road to just past the Crimson Radio antenna. Turn left and enter the peninsula there and you should get Big Dock Energy by the second open area. Go back to the main road, turn left and continue to follow it all the way to the southwest. You'll go past the point where the road curves right and follow the sidewalk to the right past Moxxi's. A bit further on, you'll turn left (south) then tend left (southeast). Just after making the jump to the KillArena, you'll get The Plant. Continue into the arena and fight Killavolt. You should get The Bone Zone near the back of the fighting area. Go back to the main road around the city and turn left (northwest). Follow it to the next open area and you should get The Hills. Turn around and head south back around a bend to the left. Turn left at the next intersection and head towards the center of town. There you should get Downtown Square. Go down the stairs there, head to the corridor, turn right and follow it almost all the way to the end to get The Underpass. Note that the location marker for that is wrong on the screenshot.
Skywell-27 (8 named locations)
The 8 named locations in Skywell-27 are:
  1. Maliwan Modulars

  2. Katagawa Pleasure Pit
  3. Maintenance Corridor
  4. Tritanium Refinery

  5. Fuel Processing
  6. Observation Deck
  7. Laser Control Room
  8. Data Center
The Fast Travel location for Skywell-27 is at the southeast corner of the map. To get to the only location before entering the guts of the facility, run along the path to the north then east, jump the chasm, and enter the open area beyond where the first two guards spawn. That will be Maliwan Modulars.

The next segement is inside the facility. You'll want to jump down from where you are and head left (west) to almost the back of the facility (near the elevator). To the right will be a jump down to the Katagawa Pleasure Pit (Moxxie's Slots will show on the map). Climb back up and continue right to the back of the facility behind the elevator. Jump up and run clockwise through the corridors and then to the left (north). Climb up the wall to the Maintenance Corridor (you might have to move around on that upper area). Then jump to the tunnel to the north. Continue along that until you find a ladder to the left. Take that, go to the end of the open area, through a tunnel on the left, then left along the side of the chasm until you can find a platform where you can jump it towards where the fire was being exhausted through a giant rocket. Go up to the left of that, run through a tunnel to the west, and you should be in the Tritanium Refinery.

From there, jump down into the pit and you should get Fuel Processing. From there, head east and you should enter a warren of offices. Turn south at the intersection and continue to the first open area and you should get the Observation Deck. Continue until you reach the vending machines. Go southwest and jump down the hole to where you fight the Katagawa Ball. The Laser Control Room should near the center of that area. If it doesn't pop, go back up the elevator and retrace your steps to the previous location, then return. In any event, go back up the elevator to the vending machines. This time, zigzag generally south and east and you should eventually get to the Data Center (room at the end of the southeast peninsula).
Atlas HQ (9 named locations)
The 9 named locations in Atlas HQ are:
  1. Atlas Campus
  2. Courtyard of Innovation
  3. Perimeter Wall Maintenance Access

  4. Lobby of Self Actualization
  5. Terry's Office
  6. Skunkworks Lab
  7. Gary's Pit

  8. Executive Suite
  9. CEO's Office
The Fast Travel location is at the northeast corner of the map. Leave the spawning room via the left door and after a few steps, you should get Atlas Campus. Turn around, go up the stairs to the large main area and you should get Courtyard of Innovation. Turn right and continue directly across to the pathway near the west wall and you should get Perimeter Wall Maintenance Access. Continue past the area where you turned the defenses back on and you should be on the upper level of the Courtyard. Continue towards the center of the map and take the stairs on the right up to the main building.

As you enter that building, you should get the Lobby of Self Actualization. Continue south down the main area and take the first set of stairs up on the left-hand (east) side. Head back north and enter Terry's Office near the north end of the corridor. Continue through those offices to the rear and you should get Skunkworks Lab. Open the door to the right in that room. Go in, go to the room on the left as soon as possible, and jump down the hole for Gary's Pit.

Head back to the ground floor of the main building and head south to the elevator. Take that up and as you leave the elevator you'll get Executive Suite. Go to the other end of the corridor and get CEO's Office.
Neon Arterial (6 named locations)
The 6 named locations in Neon Arterial are:
  1. Titan Skyway
  2. The Runoff
  3. Septic Sluice

  4. Apollyon Transit Station
  5. Green Diamond Platform
  6. Restricted Catacombs
First, Neon Arterial is, for the most part, a long twisty noodle of an area at the bottom and left side of the screenshot. Ignore the Cistern of Slaughter, Meridian Outskirts and other areas above it and to its right. Those are just artifacts of how the maps were laid out.

The Fast Transit location is at the southeast corner of the map. As you enter, you should get Titan Skyway. Immediately to your right, go to the Catch-A-Ride and get a vehicle. Continue down the road to the right and jump off the drop and get The Runoff (either jump). Go to the end of the open area and turn right. Go through the next open area and, in the one after that, take the jump (either one) for Septic Sluice. Go to the end of the open area and you'll enter some small corridors. The remaining three locations are through there.

When you reach the vending machines, you'll have to leave your vehicle. Apollyon Transit Station is as you exit the first tiny open area just past the vending machines. The Green Diamond Platform is in the third open area (a train station just past the next set of vending machines) near a dead Claptrap. Restricted Catacombs is about halfway down the southerly branch of the corridors on the same level but before reaching the Eridian Writing. I had to jump up to the right-hand wall just after the drop to that level to get it to pop.
The Forgotten Basilica (2 named locations)
The 2 named locations in The Forgotten Basilica are:
  1. The Forgotten Basilica
  2. Vault of the Rampager
The Fast Travel Location is at the south end of the map. Jump down the slide to the north and fight The Rampager. You should get The Forgotten Basilica in that arena. If not, don't worry. You should be able to get it by entering the Vault, turning around, and exiting the Vault. Anyway, after beating The Rampager, enter the Vault and get Vault of the Rampager.
Cistern of Slaughter (1 named location)
The 1 named location in Cistern of Slaughter is:
  1. Cistern of Slaughter
You'll need to have reached the Cistern of Slaughter at least once on foot to be able to fast travel to it. If you haven't already done so, see the note about reaching it from Meridian Metroplex. All you have to do is fast travel in and you should get Cistern of Slaughter.

Great guide, worked perfectly.
Typical Gearbox quality control. "Eh, don't bother trying to fix bugs, we'll just let the community figure it out". Good to see people step up to find workarounds for what Gearbox can't be bothered to fix.
