Tempered Lvl: 2
HP: ~19,136

Elements: None
Ailments: Defense Down (When tail is in debuffed state)
Roar / Earplugs: Strong Roar / High
Kinsect Spots:
  • Red: Face / Tail
  • Orange: Back
  • White: Legs / Feet
Guiding Lands Region: Rotten Only [Normal 3-5 / Tempered 6-7]
Guiding Lands Materials: Honed Tailblade [N3] / Tempered Tailblade [T2]
Notes: Tail Requires 2 breaks to be Cut. Tail is a better weak-point when it is sharpened and has lost the debuff, but it is stronger and requires weakening when it has the acid. You can obtain Shiny Drops by attacking it's head

Alatreon (Elder Dragon) ❄️
Location: Secluded Valley
Size: ♕2474.69
HP (Tempered): ~52,500(solo) 118,125(trio)

Elements: Dragon, Ice, Thunder, Fire, Water
Ailments: Fireblight, Iceblight, Waterblight, Thunderblight, Dragonblight, Stun
Roar / Earplugs: Strong Roar / High
Kinsect Spots:
  • Red: Head
  • Orange: Hind Legs
  • White: Wings
Notes: Health Boost 3 is recommended. Blight Resistance 3 helps against the various blights so bring Nullberries & equip the Coalescence skill to get some extra stats. USE ELEMENTAL WEAPONS! Particulary Ice & Dragon are your best picks. Ailments are hard to trigger and Raw Damage won't protect you from the Supernova.

Survive the Nova: Health booster / Aster Jerky and spam other items like Dust of Life and you may survive. Success rate is rather low so the best approach is to prevent/weaken them by dealing significant ELEMENTAL damage to the monster. The Damage the Attack deals is dependant on how many times Alatreon has been KO'd due to elemental damage prior to the supernova.
  • 0 Times: You die. There are no skills, armors, or tools that will help you survive. The supernova deals over 400 damage in 5 seconds.
  • 1 Time: Deals around 280 damage. Easily survivable with two Astera jerkies / Sushifish scales without health boost or health booster.
  • 2 Times: The supernova now only deals 140 damage in 5 Seconds, making it completely survivable without healing if you start at full 150 health.

Side note: Give your Palico the Plunderblade. You might not complete the quest, but you can still farm Alatreon until you eventually do succeed.

Thanks and congrats for this great work!
I noticed just one thing missing in this guide: the monsters' roar (weak/strong)
Could you consider to add it? With that it would be the perfect guide! :steamhappy:

Thank you so much for the compliment!
And thanks for spotting my mistakes, I'm pretty fast at typing so I mess up a lot ^^'

Very nice work, this should be every hunter's primary source for monster details! On the other hand, I have compiled a small list of quality of life changes you may want to adjust:

-Under the Diablos section, you mistyped "using"
-Under the Great Jagras section, you wrote "Small Monster version", while the other two monsters with smaller variants were labelled as "Small Monsters version"
-Under the Lunastra section, there should be a space before "Blue flames"
-Under the Nergigante section, a Subspecies/Variant is missing
-Under the Rajang section, "Rajangs Rage mode" should have an apostrophe to indicate ownership (Rajang's Rage mode)
-Scarred Yain Garuga? Subspecies of Yain Garuga
-Under the Zinogre section, you mistyped "works"

Please note that this is not me trying to condescend you or anything of that sort, I just noticed these things while reading over your guide and thought it would be nice to change. Let's make this the best guide out there :D
