How to change your CSGO Font EASY!

In this short guide. I will be explaining how to change the CSGO font to a custom one. NOT ALL FONTS WORK, however most do!

Step 1: Download Font Manager

in the link provided here[github.com] to download Font Manager

Step 2: Find a Font

you can use either google fonts[fonts.google.com] or dafont[www.dafont.com] to find a font you like! I recommend dafont. However either work fine and I explain below how to download a font for either.

For Google Fonts

Go to google fonts[fonts.google.com] to find a font. You can filter it with the 'Categories' option. I prefer Sans Serif font styles. So thats what i went with. Once you find the font you like. Click on it, then in the top right, there will be a "Download Family" button.

For Dafont

Go to dafont[www.dafont.com] and pick a style/genre that you like. Once you find a font you like, click on the download button.

Step 3: Installing Fonts

Once you have downloaded the font you like, you may need to unzip it, please do so. You will be left with a folder with one or more .otf/.ttf files in it. those are the font install files. There may be multiple types. You may install all of them if you wish, but theyre just versions that are already Italic or BOLD

It is not necessary to install those other fonts. The regular one will work properly on its own. The regular one is typically has a shorter name, and doesnt say ITALIC or ITALICBOLD in the name.

Some fonts may also come with a 'variable' version. This version is Italics and Bold and neither, all in one. And scales and looks the best. If your font comes with this Variable version. Use that.

Step 4: Installing the font into CSGO

Once youve installed your font, open up Font Manager NOT IN ADMINISTRATOR MODE

Then drag and drop the .ttf /.otf into the menu. It should appear there. Pick the size you like, then Apply Selected Font!

After dragging and dropping, a Windows permission screen will appear. Its not asking for Admin. Just asking if youre going to allow it to edit the fonts folder! Click Yes to continue.

How to Reset

Open the Font Manager application and select the CSGO Default Font. Then Apply.

If that doesnt work, try verifying the game files

Can i get Vac Banned?

No. This does not modify regulated game files. Everything in the 'panorama' folder in the CS files, is editable and will not result in a Vac ban, as it is purely cosmetic, like the main menu, and of course the font. An example of regulated game files, would be the items_game.txt, which hold info for how guns should look, the textures applied to the models, and what knives are what.
Im not saying this doesnt cause Vac bans because i dont want to be liable. Its because it literally cannot cause Vac bans.

Does this affect game performance?

If youre running on a lower end system not built for gaming, you may see a performance hit depending on what font you use. However most users will not see an impact in performance

My font didnt install properly / It looks nothing like what it did on the website!

If that is the case, you may try reinstalling it, however chances are CSGO doesnt support that font type (Serif, Sans Serif, Monospace, etc) and there isnt anything that can be done about it. Youll need to pick a different font type.

My drag and drop doesnt work! Help?

Verify that you didnt open Font Manager in Administrative mode. That prevents the drag and drop from working
