Balanced Weights - Vanilla version

Description
An attempt to rationalise the weights of items in Skyrim. This is not a Mod which tries to make it possible to carry as much as you like but will allow you carry to more of some items. The weight of almost every item in the vanilla game has been changed.

Without this Mod the weight of an ingot is 1, a ring is 0.25 and an Amulet is 0.5. Would you wear half an ingot around your neck and a quarter of an ingot on your finger? Of course the answer is no. A single bottle from which you put one drop of poison on one arrow weighs the same as half an ingot. I can carry many suits of Heavy Armor in my pocket without breaking a sweat. This Mod is an attempt to balance weights making them more realistic.

Examples of the Inventory weights taken from two of my characters are as follows. Without this Mod 644, with 377. Without this Mod 415, with 385. What type of item you choose to carry with the Mod makes a huge difference.

Item examples

Ingots/Ore were 1.0 now 5.0
Armor doubled. For example Steel Plate total was 59 now 118
Weapons not changed
Firewood was 5.0 now 0.3
Dragon bone was 15.0 now 6.0
Unusual Gem (Quest item) was 0.5 now 0.0
Dragonstone (Quest item) was 25 now 15
Health Potions were all 0.5 now range from 0.1 to 0.6 depending upon strength.
Poisons were 0.5 now 0.1
Rings were 0.5 now 0.0
Amulets were 0.5 now 0.1
Blue Mountain Flower was 0.1 now 0.01

Please try this Mod. Give me lots of feedback on what you think. I will make changes but bear in mind that the orginal plan was to make the weights more balanced rather than set everything to zero as other Mods do. When I think this Mod is more or less done I will move on to DLCs.

Impact of other Mods. Obviously this only changes the weights of items which come with the game which means you can expect Bethesda Armor to be a lot heavier than some but not all Mod Armor for example.

Mod isn't compatible with "Item sorting by Saige"

I like the mod. Stacks well with Realistic carry weight mod which gives my Nord 120 weight limit.

Currently I'm trying to find something that will give me some sense of how much you're physically carrying, and there was one backpack mod but it makes you look like UPS delivery guy. Perhaps horses can be introduced as a compliment to this.

Anywho thumbs up for the mod. Good attempt. Too few mods on steam with more realistic carry weights. Especially when not a part of some huge overhaul of the characters and/or gameplay.

Dont understand all the bitching going on in the comments.
Its also unrealistic to carry 300 pounds of random shit like 15 hammers and full plate armor along with a hundred rolls of cheese.

And thats at level 1.

As you stated, this mod BALANCES the weight to the game compared to the rules of the world of Skyrim.

Honestly a more realistic weight would be 50-200 lbs depending on if you are a small scholar vs a hulking barbarian Orc. Armor and Weapons stay vanilla. But I take it these people don't want realistic, they want 10,000 carry weight and to loot an entire dungeon and sell it all to the merchants in one shot.

why are stones wightless why are armor over 70 pounds when normally it should only be 20 but insteade u doubled it and made it even more unrealistic. u are supposed to make realistic wieghts not heavier ones

The armor weights were already unrealistically high! No helmet was ever more than 3-4 pounds or 2 kilos historically and even the heaviest of heavy knight armor was not more than 50 lbs or a little more than 20 kilos.

The doubled armor weight is killer... if anything armour have stayed the same, or slightly increased.

nah, i prefer official tutorials by bethesda. Also, i don't really have any patience for making mods, i have ideas, just not the patience or skill

Excllent. Go have some fun, can be good making the game do things as simple as this they way you want. If you haven't started messing about with it yet look for Darkfox127 on youtube, he has some great tutorials if you have the patience to watch them.
