Poison Poppy's Moonshine Recipe quest location

The guide describes a method to unlock the secret 3 star Poison Poppy's Moonshine recipe in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online.

About the recipe

Unlike all other Moonshine recipes, this one cannot be achieved by leveling up or completing the main story missions, even on Ruthless difficulty settings.

Rather, it has to be obtained through a rare side mission found randomly in the wild.
Since the Online part of the game is so buggy you may not be able to encounter it on the first try.

I was already a Level 20 Moonshiner and Level 82 overall when I found the recipe.
But I believe it can be obtained at the intial levels too.

Encountering the Stranger mission

Since the recipe is obtained through a random stranger mission (indicated by a white/silver blip on your mini map), you need to increase your chances of encountering one.

I recommend an empty or low player count server because stranger missions are more frequent in these servers, I encountered mine in a 2 player server.

I found my quest in Big Valley which was near my Moonshine shack in Grizzlies.
So I believe it spawns in regions near everybody's Moonshine shack, if not just go to the location I found it in, shown below with a Red marker.

The mission has an ordinary blip as usual and when you approach it the 2 Moonshiners there get antagonized and get labelled as enemies on the map.

Their camp is identical to a Stranger mission in RDR2 Campaign where you have to give some ingredients to the Moonshiners found in the wild.

Obtaining the recipe

Kill the 2 Moonshiners and look for a Chest which is similar to the big Reward Chest from the treasure maps. Open it and collect the recipe.

Poison Poppy's Moonshine Recipe

As can be seen the recipe requires
1x Prairie Poppy (Found in Great Plains)
1x Absinthe (Part of Antique Alcohol collection)
1x Oleander Sage (Found in Bayou)

In my opinion this recipe is the easiest to make Strong Moonshine which gives ~250 RDO$.
