The Shining

The Shining is a light, semi-cooperative game of survival. Players take turns exploring the hotel, collecting Willpower tokens from a shared pool that represents their ability to withstand the hotel's evil. Running out of willpower too early spells doom, but not preparing enough between rounds can be just as deadly. Players will receive a secret Shining Value at the start of each round, their goal being to surpass that value with the willpower they've gathered throughout the round. If they succeed, they survive the month; if they fail, they become possessed and attack their fellow teammates. Meanwhile, a traitor is in your midst, sabotaging your ability to survive and escape. If the traitor is not uncovered by the end of the fourth round, he will sabotage the snowmobile and force a treacherous round 5!

Thematically, you are Caretakers of the infamous Overlook Hotel, and you must survive at least 4 months of horrific visions and possessions, known as The Shining. Gather up your strength and willpower each turn in order to prepare yourself mentally and physically, or suffer at the hands of the hotel's malevolent forces. But you must be wary, as one of you have already been corrupted by the hotel and will ensure the remaining Caretakers never leave. Find him before he sabotages your escape!
