The main problem was the amount of Egyptian fighters, which was hard to deal with without a lot of dedicated A/A loadouts on start. However, it wasn't an obstacle impossible to overcome.
Another great scenario
I think my major advantage here is knowing where the S-300 sites are. My strategy was to identify them with one of the Joint Stars and baiting them into firing to confirm their radar emissions, then send 2-3 Jericho's their way. After that it's a matter of grinding down the Egyptian air force and hitting the beach and other two attack points repeatedly until a landing is possible
In effect you don't have long, I think 4 hours which is probably not enough. Your main task groups are close in, and close enough that they will be targeted at the outset with SSM and SAM. I tended to find as my aircraft took off they were being shot down.
I don't think you can get a winning score from the first play through unless I am missing something? The biggest issue is simply that you are well within a serious AD and many of your aircraft are obsolete.
I'd be tempted to see what others found, possibly moving the surface fleets back a bit would help?
