I know it would probably be a bit much. But coming from a major American city i would like 2 incorporate different style roads. Would it be hard to make a 1 lane 2 way with parking on both sides as well as a 1 lane 1 way with left hand parking instead of right lane. I only seem to find right side parking for 1ways

Fair enough on all fronts. I can understand why you made the compromises you did, given the game's limitations. I appreciate the equally detailed reply, and tip my hat to you.

As for visible wedges, Vanilla+ meshes use identical triangulation and resolution as vanilla roads, so you should find the effect comparable to vanilla highway/dirt road to vanilla street transition, where the roadway is also at different levels.

So to summarise, there is nothing really that can be done about it.

Hi Silk Boxer Wedgie, thanks for your detailed report.

I am aware that the 1U roads are raised off the ground and it is indeed intentional. It is a workaround for a limitation of the game which causes graphical glitches on roadways sunken below the ground level if the road is below certain width. These glitches would be very visible even without going into first-person view.

NExt2 1U roads (2L and 1L with parking) use the same workaround, with pavement at the same height above ground, and the roadway higher than in Vanilla+ roads (4 inches vs 2 inches above ground). The one advantage that NExt 2 alleys have is that they only "dip down" when connecting to other roads, and not to themselves. This functionality is not achievable with the asset editor and would require either modding the game or sacrificing smooth transitions with some other roads.

@Delta 5-1, continued...
Third, intersections between Vanilla+ roads occur at the same height as vanilla roads, causing the intersection to dip down at the corners by 6-8 inches. This causes your main roads with several intersections to look wavy.

Fourth, intersections of Vanilla+ roads also have highly-visible triangular wedges that misalign along the z-axis very easily. I'm not sure this related to all that I've described above, but it's just something I've noticed.

Just to reiterate, I've experienced these issues with your smaller roads 1u/8m roads. Hopefully I was descriptive enough to be helpful. Let me know if you need pictures.

First, thank you for this collection. It's a must-have since NExt is defunct. With that said, here's what I'm experiencing:

When I'm zoomed into a first-person view, I see that the sidewalks of all your 1u/8m roads are about 6 inches higher than elevation and the roadway sits at-grade. This is different than vanilla roads where the sidewalks are at-grade and the road is sunk about 6 inches. This causes a few problems, and you can't fix them with Move-It, Fine Road Tools, Road Anarchy, or Node Controller.

First, properties along the road appear sunk into the pavement beside them, which causes issues trying to detail them.

Second, intersections with vanilla roads aren't clean and the sidewalks are 6 inches higher. If you zoom in to first-person perspective, you can see z-axis clipping/floating/rippling on the roadway at the intersection, because your roads are 6 inches higher.

Could we have a road that's this narrow with the driving lane in the middle and no parking? This road is what I end up using a lot for slip lanes on busy streets. The narrower one also works nice, but feel its far too narrow and often unless I use the node editor to make the curves of the road REALLY HUGE the ends end up almost touching. So slightly thicker roads like this are helpful.

Your roads are great, thank you! Could you make one version with bus lane? I want to build a city with very narrow roads and less focused on cars.

Thanks a lot for all your roads (they are must-have for a real CS city). It would be nice to get this road but with parking space on the left side instead.

Hi AreTwo, yes, I'm planning to make one soon-ish.
