With lots of thought into your puzzles (loved 4 Last as well), I am oft times troubled and frustrated. But when I DO FIND the answer, there is a smile of satisfaction on my face. But to think that I had to have the skunk follow?
I do look foward to the next title Death of the R. When do expect it's release?
Concerning the riddle...
"From crucifixion they oft derive" - means we have to look for crucifixion's scenes at the gallery.
"In Jan's there's one" - Jan Provoost [Jean Provost] 's painting is at the far right of the room.
"Antonello's, five" - Antonello de Messina's painting is a small one downward of the room.
"Search Pete's to find another one" - Peter Gertner's is right to the guard.
"But altas, Cornelis features none" - Cornelis Engebrechtsz's is next to the two ladies.
As said in the guide, the answer is "a skull".
The riddle also hint you where to start looking for it.
