A.H.S Centaur

Brief History of Centaur:

The A.H.S Centaur was a Scottish built vessel and was launched in 1924 as a combination passenger liner and refrigerated cargo vessel. In January 1943, the ship was handed over to the Australian military to be converted into a hospital ship. In the early hours of May 14th 1943, between Sydney and Port Moresby she was struck by a Japanese torpedo. The torpedo impacted the forward portside oil tanks causing an explosion. The vessel went down within three minutes. Of the 332 on board, only 64 survived.

Stormworks Recreation:

With the limited photos and plans of the ship in existence today, Centeurix, JadonFrenzy, and myself have come together to make this detailed recreation of the A.H.S Centaur. Due to deck plans being missing or sections of them not being visible, parts of the stormworks creation are non-accessible, for example the highest part of the superstructure and some of the forward and aft spaces. What is accessible includes the forward lounge, lower ward, surgery room, and the hallways that connect them.

Sinking:

The A.H.S Centaur recreation is designed to sink as its real life counterpart did; within three minutes, with an explosion and loss of power. To sink the vessel, simply turn the key on the wheelhouse wall. !!PLEASE NOTE!! Only turn the sink key once, flipping the key off after it has been activated will break the sinking.

Activation:

To activate (start up) the A.H.S Centaur simply push the throttle and the clutch forward and hit the ignition key, all of these controls are located within the wheelhouse.
