How to play Starbound with your friend(s) on Hamachi!

This is a guide for people wanting to play with their friend(s) on the game Starbound with the program Hamachi!

ENGLISH:

Hello people! I am creating this guide to help everybody enjoy and love starbound with eachother in local multiplayer.

First off, you will want to download a program called hamachi.

You will want to download the unmanaged version of hamachi.

Next off you are going to want to open hamachi, look at the top and search for "Network" click that badboy and select "Create a new network"

You will see Network ID, Password, and Confirm Password. Network ID is the name of the network you are currently creating and the password is going to be the password of the network.

Type in the name of your network (IE: Starboundfunzies)
Then the password (IE: starbound12345)


After that you will be brought back to the main screen of hamachi and you will see that you have a current network named after what you typed.

Next you will want your friend(s) to install hamachi aswell and select "Network" then "Join an existing network"
This is where your friend(s) are going to type your network ID under the tab "Network ID:"
And your password under "Password:"

After this you will find out that he has joined your network and you guys are now together in a wonderful thing I like to call local party.

By now, you would have noticed you and your friend(s) have a IP address beside their name(s). That is the IP address you will type into Starbound when you are connecting to the server.
How to create a server for your friend(s) to join:

go into your steam library, launch starbound and in the starbound launcher. In the bottom right you should see "Launch Starbound Server" click that then let it do its thing, once it gets to "router is looking for portfowarding" you are almost done, you just have to wait until that part finishes (usually takes around 1-2 minutes)

then it will say some extra stuff then you guys are ready to play!

Just remember 2 simple things before playing starbound with your friends.

1. Make sure you are both in the same Hamachi network, and make sure you use the IP of the player hosting the server..
2. When connecting to a server make sure you press "Multiplayer" then where it says IP address, just type in the hamachi IP of the person hosting, and press connect!

Even for 2013 this was outdated since in most cases you can just forward a port (and maybe get the ISP's ire)

you know that you could just access your router webpage and just port forward 7777 ?
Its so simple, why do you guys use hamachi lol

You don't need hamachi anymore.
Just go to the options in the main menu, options and enable it.
BUT if your friend has the GOG version, of course you need hamachi/port forward.
