Fix for Weapon Unlock Glitch

Included is a fix for the unlockable weapons glitch & stuck rank glitch in Chivalry Medieval Warfare

Introduction

Hello folks

As many of you are aware, there is an incredibly game-breaking glitch that causes kills to not count toward unlocking weapons or ranking up. Searching online leads to pretty much the same answer: There is no fix and the dev's are "looking into it", whatever that means... probably nothing considering they are making hand over foot with the new DLC and steam sales.

I poked deeper and i've found a solution that works toward fixing your unlocks ingame.

WARNING: It is unreliable. One time I did it and suddenly had vanguard veteran unlocked along with random unlocks. The second time I did it it started me out fresh with 0 registered kills on everything. Still going strong on that second reset.

UPDATE 12/16/2013:

So i've permanently fixed my weapon unlock bug using this strategy:

1. Delete the files
2. Start Chivalry through Steam
3. Exit Chivalry
2. Turn OFF steam cloud sharing in steam options
a. Click on steam tab (upper left corner)
b. Click settings
c. Click Cloud --> Uncheck allow steam cloud synchronization
3. Navigate to your UDKstats.ini file in these locations:
a. C:/User/ my docs/ my games/ chivalry medieval warefare/ config
b. C:program files/Steam/ Steam apps/ Common/ Chivalry Medieval warefare/ Config
4. Change the "False" to "false" in BOTH FILES --> There should be 2 in each file

This has permanently fixed the weapon unlock bug for me, but rank still resets. Sometimes it seems as if it only saves 1 - 5 kills for the first game you play on a new server, but after the first game it will accurately save all kills towards unlocks.

If your game crashes to desktop or freezes, it will not count the kills from that match toward any unlocks. Not sure how to fix this problem yet.

Steps:

Navigate to your Chivalry folder in: C:\Users\Grizz\Documents\My Games
Find your chivalry medieval warfare folder.
Then delete it.

Open up Steam.
Open Chivalry medieval warfare through your steam library.
Doing this will recreate the folder chivalry folder found under My Users in your C: drive

This worked for me both times I tried and i've been able to rank up past 5 and also unlock various weapons (secondary and a third tier so far).

Still having this issue, have tried multiple times to no avail. Starting to give up, anyone have any other solutions to stats/rank/achievements not progressing?

I have tried several methods, including resetting my stats. I unlocked a few, then all of a sudden a bunch were unlocked, and now none are unlocking again. Torn Banner really needs to sit down and address this issue until it is resolved, because there are a lot of people out there that spent good money on the game and would like it to work properly.

I bought it over a year ago and didn't play it for almost 13 months because it was so buggy. A lot of the issues I had are fixed now, so I'm glad I gave it a try again. Incredibly fun game, but the stats issue is really frustrating.

Hmm...But when you edit the game files to do this, when or even if they actually fix the glitch through an update. Would the game files themselves corrupt? I can't seem to trust this method even though im really desperate to fix it...

This is complete bs and totally unfair. Some people have been working towards unlocking their favourite weapons for ever, while others get it just like that? And make it a game update if possible. Im pretty sure the people whose weapons unlocked just like that are not going to delete their steam game files and all that other stuff to get their items and rank reset. I wouldnt.
Please fix this.....once again!

i'm a new player. same Problem. some of the kills count up, while other doesn't. After every round the level sink to lvl 5. Have you also the Problem, that the custamize menu oposup problem to connect with the server?

Well, this is getting interesting: now I've been able to unlock with the knight the 2nd axe and the big hammer, but I'm still stuck in 5 kills to unlock the 2nd sword. I really don't understand a thing.

played as vangaurd needed 17 kills to unlock next weapon, next round i needed 999 kills.

I think I figured out what the problem is.

Sync AS IS. Because you can reset your stats, delete all your files in the my documents but it STILL SYNCS THE SAME OLD FILES THAT ARE IN THE CLOUD: It doesn't write any files from your local drive TO the could. It just "reaches out" for the files already on the sync and there's the bug.

If you delete your UDKStats.ini file it 'zero'es your progression --> from there on you start playing your game session and reach Rank 3 for exmp. You exit Chiv and restart it again.
You still get thrown back to the "bigger" Rank 5. The Sync just copies the files IT has OVER your local files, whatever they are.
