It was built in the mid 1990's and solely purchased by Conrail, which took delivery of 30 of units, including the original demonstrator. While also being the second of the builder to feature the then new AC-technology, wich EMD introduced to the market in cooperation with Siemens. Conrail originally ordered a total of 108 SD80MACs, but turned most of its order into SD70MACs, after the railroad got purchased by Norfolk Southern and CSX. Similar Chicago And Northwestern and Canadian Pacific intended to order the SD80MAC, but instead to delivery of AC4400CWs and SD90MACs. Today all SD80MACs are in service with Norfolk Southern.

I used to have all variants in my game, but now I only see the NS and the generic listed when I go to buy locomotives. Any idea why this is? All variants should be visible, as I put "false" for each one in the LUA.
