TEE Edelweiss

Description
This is a conversion of the original TpF1 mod by Elli der Wurm. I take no credits at all for creating this beautiful model of the most beautiful train to ever drive; in my opinion :)
Elli der Wurm's workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960282093/myworkshopfiles/
Original version for TpF1: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1623886238&searchtext=tee

Works like the original:
- Reversible
- Working front and back lights
- Interior

If you are the original author of this mod and you want this removed for any reason, don't hesitate contacting me and I will delete it, or rather: I will TRY to replace the model with something else, as to not break everyone's savegames.
I respect your work and I didn't intend violating your rights as original creator. I am no modder myself, I only wish I knew how to make mods. I only found out how to convert mods.
Conversion done with the mod converter by EAT1963. Thank you for creating this tool, even unskilled idiots like me are able to use it! :)

Please let me know if something doesn't work, but understand that I am a very unskilled modder (not really a modder at all), so I might not know how to fix it.

Also, if somebody knows a way how to learn modding for this game series, I've wanted it for years but I am turned down every time because I can't find a good complete modding tutorial :(
Have a nice day!

Hi author, I get a CTD when I try to add this train to my set. Can you help with that?

Would it be possible to add a fictional composition which features a few extra trailer cars?
maybe engine + 5 coaches or maybe even 6? :)

Any chance anyone has made a Ontario Northland "Northlander" version of this train?

@n.chiri I'm sorry, didn't expect Elli der Wurm was planning to do so, I only wanted other people to be able to enjoy this mod. Elli said he doesn't have the time anyways at the moment so I don't think it was cancelled because of this upload.

To be honest I think this is a shameful situation. This unauthorized conversion has caused the original author of this mod to cancel his potential plans to create a legitimate and improved future conversion of this mod. That is just sad. Modding is already very difficult and things like this are what cause modders to lose interest in continuing their efforts. I would rather have waited a bit more to have that improved conversion over a quick conversion made by somebody else. The creators of all converters strictly specify if you're not the original author of the mod you are converting, you should NOT share it. Especially if you do not have permission from the original author. This is happening right now with some popular TPF1 mods in this workshop. Converters should be for private use unless you are actually a legitimate modder porting your mods to the new game.

@Elli der Wurm Sorry, didn't realize that it was only TpF1 workshop, I changed the link to your full workshop! Thank you for being so understanding to me. I thought modders wouldn't mind reuploads as much, so long as they would get full credits. I am a content creator too (music) and there have been several instances of people reuploading my music with full credits, which I never minded, so I figured it would be the same here but as I can see it isn't :)
Next time I will ask permission first, lesson learned!

@oppiescc Thank you for your comment and your understanding of my intentions. The thing is that I found that converter and converted some TpF1 mods for myself, but I thought it would be nice if I didn't keep it for myself. I understand, next time I will ask for permission!

To add a bit of perspective from a fellow modder; I know how annoying it can be when the person you’re asking for permission doesn’t respond (I have a tendency to vanish from the face of the earth when I get bored of modding a specific game) but please don’t ever upload someone else’s work without permission - people did it for my Tpf1 mods within a week of Tpf2 coming out and many of these ‘bootlegs’ still have thousands of subscribers and it’s really annoying. Modders put in a lot of time (a huge chunk of the time I have after work) and for someone else to basically ‘steal’ the credit for that work is quite disrespectful.

I know people do this out of love for the work the modder did, but if you respect a creator and their work, wait for their permission.

You can leave it now, because I dont' know when I would have time and motivation to rework the mod...
But please also set a link to my tpf2 workshop, specially because the people which use this mod are using tpf2, not tpf1 ;)

Hello @Elli der Wurm !
If you'd like I can try to make some sort of inactive version of this mod (so replace something in this mod so that it isn't nice looking anymore), so this upload can be obsolete but not deleted. Then you can place your updated version and everyone would download that one instead.
I will immediately put those links there. I know I didn't have permission, but I thought you were inactive, and I also couldn't send a message because your account is on private. I'm sorry. I really appreciate your mod, it is beautiful. If there's anything you want me to do other than placing those links, I will edit anything you'd like.
Thank you.

Dear DJulesCMN
Nice, that you like my mod so much, that you converted it. But please remember: It's generally not allowed, to publish a converted mod without the explicit permission of the original autor! No answer is not a permission.
I planned to make a bit an performace improved version of this mod for tpf2 once, but now i will not make this work anymore.
You can leave here this converted mod now, but please at least:
1. set a link to the original tpf1 mod
2. set a link to my workshop
Thanks.
btw to anyone: this is not a permission for any other future unauthorized using of this mod!
