Jade Regent takes place in Tian Xia which is on the other side of the world on Golarion.

@Wraith_Magus there is a crazy theory on pharasma being a god from another world is that world is our earth. our earth died, she being goddess of the graves and one thing she takes is memories is that she used the memories as a base when this world was created. from there on things develop on its own but the influences of earth now gone shaped the world of golarion.

kinda like the manga/anime Magi (heads up spoilers on it.)

the world the characters live on is a 2nd world. the old world where they came from is gone and its new world locations and cultures are similar to earth. the new world was made thanks to the mages who later when they created the dungeons all the mages converted into the genies to watch over them.

Well, it's definitely not Faerun because it's totally, obviously based upon Earth (and also, so is Warhammer and Faerun). Inner Sea = Mediterranean, Avistan = Europe, Casmaron = Middle East (only now there's an actual ocean splitting it from the Far East), and Garund is BLATANTLY Africa (down to having Egypt in the north and "the forbidden jungle" with evil cannibal gorillas south of that)
