This Tutorial will teach you how to install mods manually for Arma 3, it will also show you how to extract the zips provided your have Winrar, Winzip, & or 7zip.
 It will also show you how to format and install mods that are unformatted which are mods that the game cannot read because they are not in a normal mod format or setup that the game can read.

This tutorial will be using two mods from Armaholic in its demonstration to show you the folder structure of a formatted and unformatted mod and how to install them.

Installing Arma3 mods manually is simple & easy usually in 2-3 steps. How to install Mods/Addons is the same procedure.

The difference between an addon and a mod is based on their size, and function, addons typically are smaller and generally "addons" add new content or gameplay functions to the game, whereas mods can do the same and then some, they can be as little as adding a new weapon to a full blown conversion of new factions, vehicles, weapons, maps, gameplay functions and features.

    Here we download 2 mods from Armaholic, one mod is formatted and the other is unformatted.

Step 2 - Extract the Mods and Install - 2:40

   Here i show you how to extract the mod zips and where to put them from there we locate the Arma3 directory where the mods must be moved to.

Just locate the Steam folder and then go from there.

Step 3 - Load the mod into the Arma3 Launcher (A3launcher) - 5:41

   Here i show you how to locate the newly installed mod through the arma3 launcher, and load it into the game.

Step 1 - Extract the mod zip of the unformatted mod - 7:54

An pbo instead of an @mod folder is what gets extracted, here i show you how to identify, and create a mod folder format so you can install it so that the game can read it.

Step 2 - Move the mod to the Arma3 directory - 10:23

Here i show you to locate the arma3 directory which in the previous steps the directory was already open, we then move the newly formatted mod to the directory.

Step 3 - Add the Mod to the Arma3 launcher - 11:00
=========================================
Here we start up the Arma3 launcher, and then go to local mods tab at the top of the launcher, we open, and browse for the newly formatted mod in the arma3 directory which then we choose to add and load in the launcher.
From there check the box next to the mod and then at the bottom left "play arma3 with mods"
