What Are Killstreak Weapons?
Killstreak Weapons are weapons that have been combined with a Killstreak Kit, Specialized Fabricator, or Professional Fabricator. The basic purpose of a Killstreak Weapon is that it counts how many kills you got with said weapon in a single life. There has been an update to where the MVP Board at the end of a round tells who got the highest killstreak on the winning team. (If anyone used a Killstreak weapon to begin with.)

Depending on what kit you use, you can also have a sheen effect on the weapon, and a special effect to your class' eyes, called a Killstreaker effect. Those are covered below.
What Kinds of Kits Are There, and What Do They Do?
There are three variants of Killstreak kits that gradually have better effects on the weapon, and you. Think of it as a tier system. All of these can be found by completing a mission or tour in Mann Up Mode within Mann Vs. Machine. These are in order from least to most valuable:

Normal Killstreak Kit (Officially Called "Killstreak Kit):
Colored Black,These are the simplest, and most common ones. They do no more than give the weapon a killstreak counter.

Specialized Killstreak Fabricators and Kits:
These are colored green, and look different from the Killstreak Kit. A little more rare than the kits, but not by a long shot. They give the weapon the Killstreak Counter, and a Sheen Effect on the weapon. There's many of them as well.
This one pictured is an example of the "Hot Rod" sheen.

Professional Killstreak Fabricators and Kits:
These are colored Orange, and they are by far the rarest kind of Kit. This gives the User the Killstreak Counter, A Sheen Effect, and a Killstreaker effect on the class' eyes. The color of the Killstreaker effect matches the color of the Colored Sheen.

The Difference Between Fabricators and Kits.

The item on the left is what a Fabricator looks like. (Green for Specialized, Orange for Professional.)

Fabricators are what you get for clearing Mann Up Missions, but they are NOT to immediatley get the weapon it says it has. You need to do some crafting first to craft the kit to apply to the weapon, which is covered here.

The item on the right is what a Kit looks like. (Black for normal, Green for Specialized, Orange for Professional.)

You can win only Black Kits from Mann Up Missions. Green and Orange ones are obtainted through their respective Fabricators. Kits are what you can use to freely apply the kit to whatever the kit weapon is. (Example, a Frontier Justice Kit can be applied to any quality Frontier Justice.)
What Are Robot Parts?
Robot Parts are little pieces of the destroyed robots you get after clearing a Mission in Mann Up Mode within Mann Vs. Machine. There are two kind of robot parts. Basic, and Pristine. Basic Parts are always found at least once when completing a mission, and are used for crafting Specialized Killstreak Weapons. Pristine Parts are used for crafting Professional Killstreak weapons. They're a bit more rare to find than Basic parts.

Basic Robot Parts:

Battle-Worn Robot Money Furnace

Reinforced Robot Emotion Detector

Battle-Worn Robot Taunt Processor

Battle-Worn Robot KB-808

Reinforced Robot Humor Suppression Pump

Reinforced Robot Bomb Stabilizer

Pristine Robot Parts:

Pristine Robot Currency Digester

Pristine Robot Brainstorm Bulb
How do you Properly Craft Kits and Fabricators?
The three variants work in different ways. They require special parts from completing Mann Up Missions in MvM, and unique quality weapons. Some even intertwine.

How to craft a Killstreak Kit weapon:
This one is super simple. A Kit just needs you to combine it with the weapon the Kit requires. It can be used with any quality as well. Strange, Unique, Genuine, etc. For example, a Normal Killstreak Huntsman Kit.

Select the Killstreak Huntsman Kit
"Use With..."
Select a Huntsman
Combine the two.

How to craft a Specialized Killstreak Fabricated Weapon:

This one is a bit more complicated. Fabricators require you to craft the actual kit, and THEN you can apply it to a weapon.

Here is what a crafting screen for a Specialized Fabricator looks like. In this case, the Sun-on-a-Stick.

The list on the left is the list of valid items YOU have. You will need to drag those to the right side with the corresponding piece. You need a multitude of robot parts you recieved from Mann Up. Keep in mind this is working **towards** getting the kit to put onto the weapon. Not the actual weapon.

A Specialized Fabricator ALWAYS requires one UNIQUE QUALITY Killstreak Weapon. So this means you already need a crafted Killstreak weapon that came from a Normal Killstreak Kit that is Unique Quality (Yellow.) Any other varying quality will not count.

Once you drag all the required items to the right, you click "Craft!", and now you have the kit. You can now apply it to any quality of the weapon.

How to craft a Professional Killstreak Fabricated Weapon:

It's really the same exact process as the Specialized Fabricator, but with one difference...

Professional ones require two UNIQUE Specialized Killstreak Weapons, and some Pristine Robot parts. So you need two Specialized weapons that came from a Specialized Fabricator that are unique quality.
How do Colored Sheens and Killstreaker Effects Work?
So you know what Colored Sheens and Killstreaker effects are, but there's more to them.

This is every colored sheen effect so far:
Team Shine (Red, Blue)
Hot Rod (Pink)
Manndarin (Orange)
Deadly Daffodil (Yellow)
Mean Green (Lime Green)
Agonizing Emerald (Green)
Villainous Violet (Purple)

And this is every killstreaker (Eyes) effect so far:
Cerebral Discharge
Fire Horns
Flames
Hypno-Beam
Incinerator
Singularity
Tornado

Believe it or not, the Sheen and Killstreaker effects on the weapon and eyes change overtime depending on how many kills you got.

For Colored Sheens, the higher your killstreak, the more intense the sheen gets, making it more noticable.

For Killstreaker effects, the effect gets intense if you got more than a 10 killstreak.
Extra Info
Any details that have been recently found out, or do not fit for the sections above.

By Dispenser Deployer: you get anywhere from 6-10 (from what i have seen) robo-parts for a manhattan/rottenburg Mann-Up mission. It is also possible to obtain killstreak kits and fabricators from Squad Surplus vouchers. Upon completion of the Two Cities tour, you will recieve 2-4 (again from what ive seen) items. 1 Will always be a normal killstreak kit, the second will be either a Pro or Specialized kit fabricator, OR an Australium/gold weapon. If you get 4 consider yourself lucky as it has a high chance of being one of each.

UPDATED 12-6-13: Killstreak Kits can now be applied to Botkillers and Festives.

I'm actually struggling to learn how much scrap they are for a certain killstreak kit fabricators. I always get different answers. I've checked backpack.tf and I haven't seen anything that I was looking for. Is there anyway to find out the exact price?
