How to start with Scripting?

You maybe already noticed what can be done in NL2 thanks to its powerful scripting feature. If not here is a not even close to complete list of things you can achieve with that:

• Custom Block Behavior - Full control over how your train moves on block sections
  
• Create animated flat rides with sounds or even correct physics, make them fully controlable
  
• Stunning Light Shows and other special Effects
  
• Create fully customized coasters completely bypassing NL2's built in coaster system, Water Slides and many more!

The price one have to pay for this is to have quite a good understanding how to program computer software, but you can start 10 minutes after starting reading already with programming your own software for NL2!

Although there are many enterprise courses for the popular and powerful programming languages I think it's not a bad idea to make your first steps inside some rather small environment like NL2 directly.

I gained my first programming experience in a similar environment many years ago, to give you the same experience I created this guide that shows you how to approach this!

It is not some formal technically detailed introduction, but a practical approach that shows you how to get familiar with this new skill of how to use NL2 in a way you probably never did before by encouraging you to experiment yourself with all the possibilities it gives you.

So make this step and stop being confined by what only Graphical User Interfaces give you and learn to use the Application Programming Interface.

And after you mastered NL2 Scripting it's only a small step to also apply this skill to use all your computers in a completely different way for the rest of your life!

I'm having an issue where I copy and paste the last bit of code into my script, and when I run i get an error of "Unknown method: getLightAt(int)"
