Star wars alert sound

Description
This simple mod replaces the sound effect when one (or more) of your fleets is in combat by the alert sound of the deathstar in star wars (it is looped).

This sound is tied to the gui alert (the red circles that shows you which of your fleet is under attack). If you close that gui lert (right click on it), it will stop the sound (so you can stop the sound if you are getting tired of it).

This mod doesn't change the checksum, so it is multiplayer and achievements compatible.

Compatibility :
This mod changes nothing, so fully compatible with every mod.
If another mod changes the alarm sound (the fleet_under_attack sound effect), just put this mod on bottom of your load order (so it is loaded last and overwrites that change). If you don't want it to override said mod, just desactivate this mod as it is the only thing this mod does.

Very interesting thanks! Yes that makes a lot of sense. I won't change it as other players may like it more like it is (I kinda do, it's sadly just a bit too high pitched maybe?)
If you want to remove the loop, you can simply go to ....\SteamGames\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\1963723168\sound and remove the .asset file

In the first minute of the video, GQ is issued and the alarm doesn't even last 10 seconds but the crews stand by for further instructions until told otherwise at 3:48 relax brace 23:37 - Threat cleared

It isn't entirely wrong for the alarm to go off for either a good few minutes or just a few seconds, it really depends on the situation and ship type. Some submarines don't have an alarm at all because stealth.
But please consider that our few minutes in the real world equal months or years in game and that we don't see Imperial ships sounding off alarms for minutes in the movies.

Yes. It's an combat alarm sound. AFAIK they are supposed to stay there the whole time (but they should probably be less "annoying"). If someone can point me to sources proving/refuting this, I would be happy to know more about it :P

Cool. Would like something similar for the Colossus. Maybe when its loading its weapon or instead of the notification sound when one has been used in the galaxy.

Wow, did not know about this bug. Sadly the audio is looped (and the audio file is just one loop).
So fix your bug would mean make the audio file longer (like 10 loops ?) and removing its looping caracteristic (from the game file).
I don't know how to make a file with 10 iterations of the loop. If you know, just send me the file and I will make a new mod for you ;)
(or you can use this mod as a template if you want to make it yourself)

Can this audio can please be cut shorter to avoid edge cases where the audio continues for minutes on end because the notification has disappeared (but not been dismissed, which does end the audio). The only way to stop it is to exit the game otherwise (even exiting to the main menu is insufficent)
