Update 1.1:

- adjusted the ship sprites to the height of the editor blocks

- ship thrusters not part of the stage anymore

1 - Yes it does, although it may need to have its volume increased
2 - I'd love to make a starbound character! But I'm currently working on an oc of mine and barely have time to draw his sprites now that I started university :(
