Valve's 'judges' should be dismissed and shamed. Is this the kind of dismissive intolerance you would expect to see at Cannes or Sundance? It's a fundamental requirement of any panel to review with objectivity and an open mind, lest they invalidate credibility. Furthermore, the submission rules make no mention of objectionable content (or at least subject matter/imagery that they'll treat with a negative bias or prejudice.)

They picked some of the least deserving submissions in 2012; as much can be said for this year as well. The oversight of (and/or bigotry toward) this submission proves that Valve's selection panel is tantamount to kitsch-obsessed trailer trash and has absolutely zero credibility in judgment of film or art in general.

I say this having watched and 'voted' on every submission for all 3 years (though only the latter 2 are relevant.) While there have been more than a few fantastic submissions, none have the gestalt depth of this creation -- which is particularly impressive given it's brevity. I'm not suggesting that it 'win every award' by any measure, but for a short? -- Nothing else comes close.

On a personal level, there were 3 outstanding submissions this year; KrasniyB's "4 Us" is the one that had the most substantial impact on me. I think this shows there is a distinct possibility to blur the line [read: a seemingly immeasurable chasm] between SFM and serious film. I, for one, am given at least a modicum of happiness knowing there are serious artists working in such an unlikely idiom. Thank you for making this.

Well it hasn't been nominated for a reason,it contains a sequence with a women blowing medic in his car...i think this is why it didn't get nominated.
