How To Bypass Constantly Being Asked If You'd Like To Allow The Game Permission To Make Changes
By CoffeeStars
I don't know if this issue is normal, but every time I tried to load the game, I would always be ripped a new one by the windows error noise loud in my ears, asking if I'd like to give steam permission to make changes to my computer, with no option to stop the message for only this one application, which only occurred for The Sims 3. As if it were the first time launching the game.
I have successfully fixed this issue, along with the ability to completely bypass the launcher and keep my computer running fast.
I went to:
Local Disk >Program Files >Steam >steamapps >common >The Sims 3 >Game >Bin
I scrolled as far down as I could and located the application titled "TS3W", right clicked, went over the "Send to" pop-up menu, and selected "Desktop (create shortcut)" and I renamed the new shortcut to "The Sims 3", deleted the original shortcut made upon installing, and there you have it, so long as you only use the new shortcut to launch your game, it should run without that loud, annoying pop-up, and the launcher shouldn't open at all.
Enjoy your annoyance-free gaming, mates.
