Getting Prepped
1) First things first… Go to CS:GO Float’s chrome/Firefox extension [chrome.google.com] and download the extension for your respective browser. This must be done compulsorily as the extension will aid you in 2 things which are: -
A)
Whilst scouting the market for floated skins

and B)
To observe your own, or someone else’s inventory such as mine to see his/her floated skins, or just to admire them.

Rarity of Skins
- Say there are two skins which have a 0.999 float. They have the same rank, are in the same collection, but one is restricted (purple) while the other is classified (pink), which is going to be worth more?
The answer is the classified skin.
The reason is simple, as it’s a classified, it’s a rarer drop, therefore, logically there should be less of them in existence, therefore making it more expensive.
Aim
- Always aim for #1s, #2s, and #3s, possibly even #4s and #5s.

/// If you’re a reseller, collectors often don’t look further than these 5 ranks.

However, people are also interested in just many 0s and many 9s.
For example, the ak elite build in factory new. The whole list of elite build down to rank 46 is either owned by collectors or an inactive account.
This is due to the fact that the Elite Build is so common of a skin and gets dropped so often, that some of it's drops just have many zeroes. Hence, making collectors interested in the same.
Price Checks
4) To know if you’re getting profit, you first must also price check the skin.
A couple of factors that determine a skin's price are: -

a) Whether it can be crafted or not ; for example, some consumer grade skins are worth more than others as they cannot be crafted and can be gotten only from drops and cases
b) Its rarity: - Industrial Grade (Grey), Mil-Spec (Blue), Restricted (Purple), Classified (Pink), Covert (Red) or a Knife (Yellow).
c) The collection it comes from: - Older skins are worth more than newer skins as if they have way less of a chance to be overtaken
d) The number of nines or zeroes it has in the beginning of it's float value
e) The sheer value / base price of the skin: - An M4a1-s Icarus Fell FN will obviously get more overpay for a 0.0001 float than an AWP Atheris FN. Both are restricted skins, but at the time of writing this guide, An Icarus Fell is $75, and an Atheris is $14.
f) The Float Range of the skin. An Icarus Fell exists only from the range of 0.00 to 0.10. While an AWP Atheris exists from the ranges 0.00 to 1.00. Assuming the Icarus Fell and the AWP Atheris were the same skin and had the same price, but only the float ranges varied, an AWP Atheris would get more overpay for a 0.00000 float value than an Icarus Fell would get. This is because since the Atheris has a 10 times wider range of floats it can come in, the chances of getting the same drop of an Atheris in the same float value is rarer than that of an Icarus Fell in the same float.

For everyone who was about to flame me in the comments about the Atheris being dropped from cases and the Icarus Fell being from the Gods and Monsters collection, and hence not being dropped anymore. Please assume all attributes of the Icarus Fell to be the same as the Atheris, except for the float range, for the time being.

People are very busy but there are many discord servers which one can use for trading and price checking of floats, katos, blue gems, and just normal day-to-day trades.
Getting Paid
5) Look for collectors: - Collectors are the guys who sometimes overpay a decent amount for (in this instance) ranked floated skins.

For example, I sold Memetilium the #1 Highest AWP Mortis .6399991 for 1129 rmb on buff (~$173) after a bidding war with Mclaren't as shown below: -
SSG-08ing
6) This goes without saying, but continuously scout the market and csgofloat [dB.csgofloat.com] for low and high floats (whatever your cup of tea is)
Lowballing
7) My last, and final point will cover a very debatable point, lowballing: - Lowballing a guy is a reasonable way to figure out whether a person knows about the actual value of their skin. If it doesn't work out, it's fine. If it does, it's stonks for you bud.

NOTE
The above statement is a clear bias and some people may not advocate it.

My logic is that people must know what they’re in for. It’s a tough world we live in and I don’t mind getting criticized for what I think.

This guide is merely a means of expressing my opinion, so do take everything with a grain of salt.
