It's Art
By GrimStrider
It's a secret achievement. Very frustrating. And VERY time consuming. Spoilers ahead. Be advised.

If you are new player and achievement hunter in this game. I would suggest starting it asap in your second replay of the game. (if you played first time purely for story and beauty of this game)

Good advice would be to kill all the small animals that you see on the lists as you do other quests. It will greatly reduce the time it would take to finish this quest. Toads, bullfrogs, blue jay and crows. All can be acquired easily since they are spawned almost everywhere.

Preparations.
After you played story mode and missed some highly missable missions and/or activities and started a new playthrough head to Valentine to it's Train Station and look around inside the building for the poster. Small Game Hunters wanted posted. Get that.

Get a Varmint rifle.
You will already have had a bow during chapter 1 after hunting with Charles.
Get small game arrows. You will need feathers, normal arrows and normal shotgun shells.

Also... you would need a Buck Antler trinket, it gives you a chance to get a two star pelt/carcass to become three star one. You would HAVE to get only perfect carcasses. So.... for larger animals like opossums and beavers ~ only aim to head with Varmint rifle. For smaller ones ~ you can use Small Game Arrows on any body part.
Hunting Request No1
And now the real fun begins.

First request.
  • Suirrel (any)
  • Rabbit

ANY stand for "any species", you still have to get animals in perfect conditions.

Rabbits are located almost everywhere. Use Varmint and aim for head.
Squirrels are common also. There are at least three species of squirrels that you can find.
Rabbits usually roam on plains, squirrels in areas with trees around.
Hunting Request No2
After getting previous request done, send the carcasses via mail and wait for another.

  • Cardinal
  • Rat (any)
  • Woodpecker (any)

ANY stand for "any species", you still have to get animals in perfect conditions.

Easiest place to get perfect rat carcass is random encounter in Saint Denis when a saloon owner asks for help with pest problem or behind Elysian pool's waterfall, since it don't matter what speciest of rat you provide, as long as it is perfect ~ you can use brown rat. While you are in caves behind waterfall you should look for bats too, they can be found in there during daytime.

Cardinals and woodpeckers can be seen in skies. Keep eyes when you travel around Dakota river. They also sit on rocks. Stop and take out your binoculars and use Eagle Eye to detect them.
Small Games Arrow shot to any body part will yield you a perfect carcass.

Hunting Request No3
After getting previous request done, send the carcasses via mail and wait for another.

  • Chipmunk
  • Oriole (any)
  • Robin
  • Opossum

ANY stand for "any species", you still have to get animals in perfect conditions.

For me this was hardest one. I could not find any Robins anywhere and had to venture beyond Chapter 6 into New Austin to be able to find one. You may or may not have to do the same during your playthrough. The only place i could find Robins was at the coast of West Elizabeth.

Orioles like other most small birds can be found sitting on stones bathing in sunlight during early/daytime hours around Dakota river. At the end of it, to be precise.

Chipmunks and opossums can be found together in Lemoyne in around this area. Chipmunks should be looked for during any time, opossums are better to be hunted during dusk/night.

Use Varmint for possum.
Hunting Request No4
After getting previous request done, send the carcasses via mail and wait for another.

  • Sparrow (any)
  • Songbird (any)
  • Toad (any)
  • Bullfrog
  • Skunk

ANY stand for "any species", you still have to get animals in perfect conditions.

Reliable spawn. Songbirds spawn during day, can be found sitting on rocks or the wooden bridge at that location. Sparrows can be found around Montana or Dakota rivers during daytime either in air or on stones bathing in sunlight. Use Eagle Eye and check top of stones in the rivers.

Toads and bullfrogs can be found together around Bayunwa, Lakay and Lagras.

Skunks are nocturnal. Should be hunted during night/dusk. Use Varmint and aim for head.
Hunting Request No5
After getting previous request done, send the carcasses via mail and wait for another.

  • Waxwing
  • Bat
  • Blue Jay
  • Crow
  • Beaver

ANY stand for "any species", you still have to get animals in perfect conditions.

Crows are found anywhere in the sky whenever you look up... i ain't even gonna include map location. Or if you get impatient ~ kill and skin an animal so it starts to attract scavenger birds. Crows and Ravens are sure to appear fast. They always travel in groups... so if you see 4~5 birds in sky, they are most likely ravens or crows.

Waxwings and Blue Jays can be found at..... you guessed it! At the top of Dakota river!! Waxwings are usually in the skies, but can sometimes be found sitting on stones near Cumberland Falls.
Blue Jays can be found down the river. Keep looking on top of stones around the river.

Bats can be found in the caves behind Elysian waterfall. At top of Elysian Pool. Look during daytime.

Beavers easily found near Owanjila Dam. Use Varmint and aim for head.
Finale.
After you are finished with the requests and having mailed all of them, visited that old lady and finished the game (yes, you have to finish the game to be able to complete this achievement) come to Marston farm to the family home's chimney. Place the squirrel and leave the farm ~ you have to leave the farm area to be able to camp. As soon as you start the camp ~ sleep 36 hours, then save and reload and go to ranch. The squirrel will be gone.

You will have to look for the squirrel after it is gone. It will be in following locations, each time.
  • John and Abigail's room, look in the chest.
  • John and Abigail's room, under the chimney, just like the money stashes in previous missions.
  • At the attic in one of the chests.
  • Near barn where sheep are located.
  • In the barn, on second floor, look for it in chest.
  • On top of mount Shann.

First 5 locations are at the Marston family farm, easy find all of them, 4th one might be an issue, just look at the sheep pen. It will be on pushcart there.

After you pick it up 6th and final time at the tip of the mountain Shann you should get your achievement. No need to place it on the chimney.

4th location, near the barn. 6th location on top of the mountain.

Actually you can use that save file and do it just then and there. Cuz u still do need to finish the game to get it. But with a savefile you can just go from there. I would advise you to look for folks with similar problem as you have faced. I wouldn't want you to waste more time on it than you already have.

So, I need to play entire the game just only to obtain the “it's art” trophy
GrimStrider  [author] Aug 24, 2024 @ 3:10am
I can only land you my savefile for 100% completion rate. I don't have the Art one, sadly.

Ok, when you got home, send it to me

I'll look for a save file when I get home. But don't get ur hopes up, i do not recall making a backup for a guide for such a thing. :NekoSad:

I found folks in russian trainer community that appear to have similar issues. I found an issue with drivers and this game. Supposedly it's a combination of both raw~ish rdr2 programming and shitty nvidia drivers. Combined with your trainer usage. .w. Might be just a poor coincidence of all these circumstances. .w.
