Mamba's Extended Mod Merge 2 - Unearthed Arcana Compatibility Pack

Subscribe on Steam Workshop | Download from Runic Games Fansite[www.runicgamesfansite.com]

This is a companion mod to Extended Mod Merge (Steam | RGF[forums.runicgames.com]), do not use it without it.

The Unearthed Arcana Compatibility Pack resolves the conflicts / overlap between Unearthed and my Extended Mod Merge. While it resolves all conflicts, it does not retain all Unearthed Arcana changes (some cosmetic ones I did not incorporate and I did not disable the player teleporting out of certain areas).

My mod collection consists of
  • Pet Collection (Steam | RGF[forums.runicgames.com]), a combination of many pet mods, with its Synergies Compatibility Pack. All starter pets have vanilla stats, better pets must be bought at special vendors.
  • Core Mod Merge (Steam | RGF[forums.runicgames.com]), changes the core game with only minimal changes to gameplay, with its Synergies Compatibility Pack and the optional Drop Enhancement Undo pack to restore the vanilla drop rates.
  • Extended Mod Merge 2 (Steam | RGF[forums.runicgames.com]), changes / tweaks gameplay slightly more and also changes the classes a bit, with its Synergies Compatibility Pack.

The load order is

1. Drop Enhancement Undo Steam | RGF[www.runicgamesfansite.com]
2. MEMM2 Unearthed Arcana Compatibility Pack Steam | RGF[www.runicgamesfansite.com]
3. MCMM Unearthed Arcana Compatibility Pack Steam | RGF[www.runicgamesfansite.com]
4. Extended Mod Merge 2 Steam | RGF[www.runicgamesfansite.com]
5. Core Mod Merge Steam | RGF[www.runicgamesfansite.com]
6. Pet Collection Steam | RGF[www.runicgamesfansite.com]
7. Unearthed Arcana RGF[forums.runicgames.com]

You can skip the mods you do not want to use in this sequence.

Ah. Thanks for straightening me out. It wasn't very clear to me.

The compatibility packs are not resolving conflicts between Synergies and Unearthed Arcana, only between my mod an EITHER Synergies OR Unearthed Arcana, not both.

I have no idea how compatible Synergies and UA are with each other, I assume you will have some issues when combining both, no matter what order you use.

Is synergies loaded before or after unearthed arcana?

Of course WinMerge can compare text files. Once you have compared the directores and it shows you which files they share but are different, double-click the file to see it and the differences highlighted.

Don't think there are many changes in the dungeon files, only a line here and there, but I believe there are other changes too, just compare them with the vanilla ones ;)

Agent Ransack is also a good tool for text editing / searching btw.

Can WinMerge also compare 2 text files?
Thought only files as such. Did he change anything else in those dungeon files or just the portal stuff?

Forgot to mention it before, I always compare my files with the other mods and the other mods with vanilla, to see what changes the other mod made.

I then add those changes to my files (or not, as was the case here at times).

That is in MEDIA/DUNGEONS, compare against the vanilla files using WinMerge.

He added <BOOL>ALLOW_PORTALS:false to some of them.

Yeah, WinMerged Yesterday, have about 350 duplicate Files, think I will do an extra pack for AU. Could you help me out with where I can find that teleporting out of places stuff you mentionend? THX

It is and it has gotten worse ;)

First I compare both mods using WinMerge and then, yes, you have to look at pretty much every file that exists in both mods and check the difference to see what to do about it.

For this one I just focused on the major points, i.e. conflicts, not on keeping every change UA made (for Synergies I keep all changes, but there is a lot less overlap).

If you look through the fiels you will notice some recurring themes and can quickly decide for many of them, e.g. he changed the gambler icon on a lot of items, I do not care about that, so most item changes I could simply dismiss.
In spawnclasses he changed a lot, not all of which I agree with, I believe I took over some and for others I just kept whatever I had and so forth.

It doesn't actually take all that long that way, esp. if you do not try to keep every minor change (like the icons) but focus on the big ones and the actual incompatibilities.
