I'm actually really REALLY enjoying this character, one of the best sprite rip I've seen in any game imo.
I don't think you'd be updating this character sadly, but some popular devs said I should ask you if I can borrow the character file and make her up to date if you're okay with that. I'll credit you and everything. Thank you, good day.
amazing work, my guy.
This might be Reisen's lunatic eyes, but I'm in crazy love with this character. I really like how fluid her movement is considering a lot of her moves (crouch attack, forward air, etc) have horizontal and vertical velocity attached to them. So one second your charging at the enemy and just when they're about to hit you, you're moving back already. Sort of like a hallucination.
Because of this, her moveset lends itself well to playing a lot of mind games with the opponent. So I can see her as having lots of potential in the competitive scene. And I find it refreshing how you kept her Soku sprites the same and didn't reduce the quality by shrinking it down.
Overall , a lot of her moves have cool tricks to them, which really personifies her “Lunatic Red Eyes” ability. I feel like, in the competitive scene, if you’re skilled enough in the meta game, you can really manipulate the brain waves of your opponent just like Reisen lol. Hell, I think Reisen’s already manipulated my own brain waves, since this was supposed to be just a quick comment, but ended up getting split into 4 comments lmao.
Last but certainly not least, the alt color palettes. Maybe it’s just me, but I never knew different color swaps could have different victory themes. Like literally this is the first time I’ve seen this done on the workshop. And, oh my god, it’s a really freaking cool feature. Mokou having her “Reach for the Moon” theme makes sense, but I’m surprised to see Raiko’s “Primordial Beat” in there too. It’s cool to see her percussion getting some love.
Would be neat to see a theme attached to the Kaguya costume, since both her and Mokou are pretty intense rivals (no pun intended). Though, she does look an awful lot like Tewi as well, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was yet another one of her pranks lol.
>Reisen didn't notice that some of Touhou characters are too small to fight.
LMAO. God, as someone who’s been collecting all of the Touhou mods on the workshop (Rivals of Gensokyo) and have made my own as well, that line in the description’s hella relatable. The Hisoutensoku sprite sheets are purposely slightly bigger than the normal Rivals cast since they use more pixels. And I prefer it that way. Yet, a bunch of modders shrink the characters so they match in size, but the sprites end up looking really blurry. I mean, I’m grateful that there’s at least some Touhou content on the workshop, the more the merrier I say, but I wish they’d keep the sprite sizes as is like Reisen, Reimu, Youmu, Okuu, etc.
