How to Get Izanagi's Burden! (outdated as of November 2020)

This guide will explain to Destiny 2 players, how to acquire the AMAZING weapon, Izanagi's Burden in a USER-FRIENDLY WAY

Step 1: Starting the Quest

To start this quest, head to the Tower Annex and visit Ada. On her menu, you will see the Mysterious Box quest line. Pick it up from her to start the quest.

Step 2: Lots and Lots of Forges

This step will take at least four days. As of Shadowkeep, the forges have been set to a daily rotation and there are four of them, Volundr, Gofannon, Izanami and Bergusia. Here's what you have to do specifically:
Load up the forge
Kill the blue drones around the forge(There are two and they spawn after the first wave is cleared. They aren't too hard to find) If you receive maximum tempor in the bottom left of your screen, you have killed both.
Finish the forge and open a crate next to the rewards to earn the key. Then, insert the key into the box(The key will go to your quests).
BERGUSIA
This one is different however. When you complete the other three, you will receive the key already made. In this forge, you will receive a key mold and this is another quest step.

Step 3: Bergusia Key Mold

This step is painful. I'm sorry.
Go to Ada to receive the mold and the first step is to go to the Leviathan.
Here, you will have to get watcher's lenses. To do this, go under the spawn bridge and you will see levers in a room. The order is 1,5,3,2,4,6 for the levers. If done fast enough, there will be text that reads, "The way is open". This step is easier with more people because you won't have to sonicspeed to each lever. Head up past the launchers and into the pipe area. Walk a little further after activating the lift and you will see some watcher robots eventually. KILL THEM. You can keep resetting by leaving the room and this step shouldn't take too long.
I hate this step. Next, you have to collect 200 glimmering amethyst! They can be earned through public events, strike chests, ect. The fastest way to this is the Lake of Shadows strike. It's short, so you can get the amethyst faster.
Finally, run the Bergusia forge AGAIN to finish the mold.

Tired yet? Too bad. We're just getting started, pal.

Step 4: The Rare Bounty

This step sucks too. You might be thinking, "It's just a bounty. It can't be too hard", and while this is technically true, this step can either be easy or painful. To even get the rare bounty, you have to complete normal black armory bounties from Ada and hope a rare one drops. I got mine after a few bounties but I know someone who had horrible luck and it took them two months. Scary, I know.
After you get one to drop, complete it. They can be as simple or difficult. Mine was very easy and most of them are, but some are not. After you complete the bounty, you will receive the obsidian crystal and you can continue this quest.

It gets a little easier from here. Well, sort of.

Step 5: The Shattered Throne

Okay, before you yell at me for calling this step easy, it's not as bad as you think. Back when I was a solo player in yonder times, I thought this was the hardest thing ever and I was like, "Well, I guess I'm not getting Izanagi's Burden"(It came out in early 2019). However, when I actually did the dungeon, I was like, "That was ridiculously easy." Keep in mind that you need the Forsaken DLC to access it. Bring Whisper of the Worm for this one. It recks the final boss. The dungeon has some puzzles so I would recommend using a guide or finding someone that has done it before. The final boss is a cake walk. The only somewhat challenging boss is the mid-boss. Complete this dungeon to obtain the next quest step.

Now, the quest gets very easy.

Step 6: Complete a Special Version of the Pyramidion on Io

This step isn't too bad. I would recommend bringing a fireteam with you because the enemies are stronger than usual. Simply complete the strike to move on.

Step 7: The Final Mission

This is the easy part. If you want to get done faster, bring a team.
This is a mission called Lock and Key and is located on Earth in the Niobe Labs. It's literally just killing a boss and then you're done. Pretty Ez bro

Review time

Head back to Ada to pick up your brand new, Izanagi's Burden!
This gun is great. It's exotic perk is Honed Edge, which reloads four bullets into one, which deals massive DPS on bosses. It's pretty good for raiding, especially Garden of Salvation! Simply hold R to activate Honed Edge and let your enemies have it. Happy Killing everyone!

Bonus Step: The Catalyst

Now, if you want to see Izanagi's true potential, you need the catalyst!
To get it, you have to complete the Heroic Menagerie, which isn't very hard. It's just not match-made.
PLEASE NOTE: You NEED to have your chalice maxed out if you want the catalyst. I learned this the hard way. Grind those imperials.
Once you have the catalyst, get kills with Izanagi's and BAM, you've masterworked it!
