Indian Fury 3 - Socotra Scramble, 1994

Description
Indian Fury 3 – Socotra Scramble
This is the third scenario of an 8-10 scenario campaign, and is linked to the Northern Fury Campaign. You may wish to refer to that background document to get a broader picture of the geopolitical setting. While Socotra Scramble is set in the Indian Ocean/Persian Gulf area, it is happening simultaneously to several others occurring around the globe, and is directly linked to the happening in the Mediterranean. It is not essential to play any of these scenarios prior to taking your place as Commander of the USS Nimitz CVBG, but it will be useful to understand the global context. See the Indian Fury background document for further insight on the background and specific issues in this region. The key nuggets are

The Cold War continued, no thaw in relations. Germany is reunified but causing friction between East & West. WP still alive and doing very well.
On the 12 Feb 1994, the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, opened with ominous indications of trouble brewing. Soviet and Eastern Bloc countries were represented at the opening ceremonies but many of their athletes were not present at the start of the actual events the next morning. The Russian Olympic village was empty and initial investigation found that many of the athletes had simply disappeared, while only a few had flown home. Norway ordered the IOC to cancel the games and evacuate the Olympic Village.
Norway has called up its reserves, deployed forces to forward bases and has requested support from NATO and has been under significant attack since about noon on the 13th.
Attacks have occurred around the globe to include significant conventional strikes against costal cities and interior infrastructure in North America.
It is now the start of the third day in a new World War.
You’re commanding the USS Nimitz CVBG and have been tasked to steam at maximum possible speed north to join 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean. Things are interesting in the Indian Ocean but positively frantic in the Med.
In this scenario you will need to assemble your Battle Group, neutralize several layers of enemy defences, proceed through restricted, hazard laden waters to enter the Red Sea on your journey to the main theater of operations.
For posture and disposition of various Gulf allies please see the background document.

Designer’s notes:
This is a busy and complex scenario, you will need to use your resources efficiently and make the best out of every advantage you have.

You should turn 'special messages' ON and in a Pop-Up, and scenario events OFF.
Please respect the initial ready times for aircraft, this represents designed delays that both balance the scenario and paint the picture of routine air operations where machinery breaks and requires preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
You have many problems ahead of you and not a lot of time, recommend you start immediately and plan your operations well in advance.
Recommend that you have a word or text document open in the background to allow you to cut and paste the numerous special messages you will receive. This will allow you to refer to them later at your leisure to double check details of tasking or assignments.
Points are allotted or deducted for losses, and for accomplishing assigned tasks.
