DESTINY 2: HOW-TO GET THE RECLUSE SMG (PINNACLE WEAPON) – QUEST STEPS GUIDE

PREFACE

Our guide to obtaining The Recluse SMG will walk you through everything you need to know to get this legendary submachine gun! There's not a whole lot to this quest, but we'll give you some tips and tricks on how-to complete it the quickest!

This is a pretty powerful SMG and fires a ton of rounds per minute. If you are big into the Crucible and PVP this will likely be a solid part of your arsenal!

THE RECLUSE - LEGENDARY SUBMACHINE GUN

My bite will turn your sweet flesh to vile rot.

THE RECLUSE PERKS

• Lightweight Frame: Superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped.
• Polygonal Rifling: Barrel optimized for recoil reduction. - Increases stability.
• Ricochet Rounds: Rounds ricochet off hard surfaces. - Increases stability - Slightly increases range.
• Feeding Frenzy: Kills with this weapon increase reload speed for a short time.[/*[

THE RECLUSE LORE

An arrow whined out of nowhere. It drove through his shoulder, penetrating his armor as though it were paper, not plasteel.

No enemies on his tracker. So then where—

The second arrow hit harder than the first: straight through his other shoulder, skewering the joint. He twisted his head, saw the arrowhead protruding through his pauldron, chuckled humorlessly, looked through the trees. The asteroids of the Reef did not afford many hiding places, even those which had been terraformed to support plants and animals, so the shooter had to be—

The third arrow penetrated his thigh. He laughed aloud.

"Transmat?" his Ghost suggested, a quiet voice in his mind.

"No. They started this. I'll finish it."

Unable to lift any of his own weapons in defense, concerned that he might compromise his Ghost if he made any attempt to heal himself with the Light, Lord Shaxx began to limp toward the shooter's likeliest vantage.

This was the work of a ballista, he supposed. Dark Age weaponry. Nothing else could hit so hard.

As he tottered along, an Awoken woman in the near distance seemed to rise from the forest floor. She cast aside her camouflage and stood straight. He stopped to gawk. She was as tall as he was, if not taller. Her bow (just a bow! an ordinary bow!) was certainly taller.

"You're trespassing on Awoken territory, Guardian," she called to him. "Declare yourself."

"Who are you?" he asked, astounded.

"I am the Queen's Wrath. Declare yourself. I will not ask again." She raised her bow, drawing it to its full capacity.

He watched in amazement. It was just a bow. And she was just an ordinary Awoken woman! And yet! "You are a tempest," he replied humbly.

In the next instant, she killed him.

It was the start of a beautiful friendship.

STEP 1: FROM THE MOUTHS OF BABES

Complete Crucible Triumph "The Stuff of Myth."

The first step you need to complete to acquire The Recluse is to unlock the pinnacle weapon quest step, From the Mouths of Babes. This is a Crucible based quest, so you’re going to need to visit Lord Shaxx in The Tower. Upon visiting him, you can find this quest in the Pursuits section of his wares. Pick it up and it will be added to your inventory.

Completing From the Mouths of Babes will reward you with The Recluse, one of three Pinnacle Weapons in Destiny 2.

Now that you’ve got the quest, it’s time to start completing it. This quest step only has one requirement: complete Crucible Triumph The Stuff of Myth.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE STUFF OF MYTH TRIUMPH

How to complete The Stuff of Myth Triumph

If you wish to complete The Stuff of Myth Triumph, then you’re going to need to play quite a few Crucible matches. First, you’ll have two main requirements here:

• Win matches in the Crucible.
  
• Reach Fabled rank.

Completing both of these tasks is going to take you quite a while. In order to complete the first portion, and score wins in the Crucible, you’ll need to fill the bar to 100%. Each win of a normal Crucible match appears to grant you 1%, whereas matches in the Iron Banner and the Competitive playlist will grant you more towards your progress. This means you’re going to need to pull off roughly 100 wins in the Crucible, so grab your Fireteam members and start grinding.

Players seeking to complete The Stuff of Myth Triumph will find a long and trying journey ahead of them.

Finally, you’re also going to need to reach Fabled Glory rank in the Crucible. If you aren’t aware of how Crucible ranking works, players can achieve a total of six ranks, starting at Guardian. Each of these ranks has three sub-ranks, excluding the final level. Here are the ranks you can achieve:

• Guardian
  
• Brave
  
• Heroic
  
• Fabled
  
• Mythic
  
• Legend

As you might have guessed, you’ll achieve higher ranks by playing, and winning, Competitive Crucible matches. Each match you win will add to your Glory Rank. Each time you reach a new rank, you’ll be rewarded with a package for your troubles. The only way to increase your Glory Rank is to play the Competitive playlists in Destiny 2’s Crucible. As of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, the Competitive playlist is Survival, an intense mode where there are limited revives.

Just remember that in Competitive, you lose points if you lose matches, so you’ll want to go in with a Fireteam that is prepared to win. The good news is, reaching Fabled isn’t impossible, it’s just going to take you a while, so be prepared for a long journey.

When you’ve completed the wins in the Crucible and earned Fabled Glory Rank, you’ll complete The Stuff of Myth and then be able to turn in the quest step From the Mouths of Babes. This will reward you with The Recluse SMG.
