Adonia - A Merchant

Description
Adonia is an Imperial merchant that I put into Ivarstead because nothing happens in that town. She can be found at the Vilemyr Inn, and sells items typically found in a general store (such as Belethor's shop in Whiterun), but I have also added a decent bit of blacksmithing materials, fairly rare alchemy ingredients, and soul gems. She has a cap of 30000 gold to prevent the glitch of a vendor having more than 30k accepting items you sell, but not giving you money for them.

As an added treat, I have taken the liberty of putting an alchemy and enchanting table just off to the side, in the room that Wilhelm will let you rent for a night. On an unimportant side note, I read that Adonia is the female version of the Greek Adonius, meaning "He who slays dragons". I thought it would be fun to give my merchant an ironic name.

Enjoy!

Yeah, try the easier fixes first. I should've posted the fixes in reverse order.

no. Never really got that far - looked at all that went in to the character and just - blah - and gave up.
I am to brain damaged to learn things quickly (strokes will do that to you).
Though looking at my game, it is possible I got her at the wrong time of day.

But did you try the easier ones? The time of day, and disabling/enabling the AI?

somehow no - followed your instructions - looked at the list of commands and then blanked - I am really not good at using this creation thing - By the time I get the hang of it Skyrim will likely be out dated (thats what happened when I used to do mods for NeverWinter Nights - by the time I got good at Modding the original it was obsolete.)

It's ok, you'll get the hang of it eventually. It just takes practice. So did any of the fixes work?

ah - I had wondered how to do that - I have creation kit but so far all I manage to do is cause the game to crash. My modding skills are just that bad.

I hate to even suggest this last fix, as it should be me editing the files and not you. But it works perfectly for me, and I've received no other complaints, so if the other two solutions don't work, then you'll have to edit the files yourself. Download creation kit, go to File -> Data, then select the AdoniaMerchant.esp and select "set as active file" in the lower right left hand corner. Once everything's loaded up, go to the character tab, then faction. Type merchant into the filter and select IvarsteadMerchant. Go to the vendor tab, and where it says location, click change and make sure that the location for the person to sell is set to "near self". That should fix it, based on what I've read from the forums.

Alright, I've done a little digging and I've got 3 solutions for you. We'll start with the most obvious one, and then go to the harder ones:

1) Are you trading with her during the correct timeframe? I set her to open her shop from 8AM to 8 PM. If you are trying to trade with her outside of this time zone, it may not work.
2) You can try opening up the console, selecting her, then type in "disable" (without quotes), this will disable her AI completely. Close the console and make sure she's disabled. Then open it up again, and type "enable" (again, without quotes). This will reset her AI and might fix the problem.

That's strange. When I tested her, she worked just fine. I have no idea what the problem could be, but I'll try to find a fix for you.
