Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game (FFG 2010, Complete with Expansions)

Beskrivning
"All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom." - Albert Einstein

---

It was quite an undertaking- more than 95% of the files herein are scanned from my personal collection of the game, each item manually cropped, rotated, and resized for maximum quality, resulting in a labor of love that consists of over 300 individual items in the mod. Included is not only the base game, but also the Fame and Fortune and Wisdom and Warfare expansions, each adding to this already colossal game. After the creator of a previous mod of the same game disappeared, I was hoping someone else would replace it- but as the old saying goes, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself- so I did. I hope that this is not merely a recreation of the former mod, but an improvement upon it.

No other board game comes close to capturing the feel of Sid Meier's Civilization series- while there have been three other tabletop game adaptations of the series, I can safely say that this is the only one that truly feels like you're playing the video game as a tabletop game. Grab one to four friends and get ready for an epic journey wherein you lead your people from using sticks and stones all the way to traversing the stars. Explore the world, expand your borders, exploit the land and its resources, and exterminate your foes. Erect marvelous Wonders of the World, employ the aid of Great Persons, enlist armies to fend off your enemies, enact new forms of Government with different Social Policies. Much like the video game, there are multiple paths to victory, allowing you to pursue it via Conquest, Science, Culture, or Commerce.

As a glimpse of what's inside, here's a few of the more important things:
  • 16 Civilizations
  • 44 Technologies
  • 43 Map Tiles (16 starting tiles and 27 neutrals)
  • 42 Great People (42 cards representing individuals, 18 tokens for their placement on the map)
  • 27 Wonders of the World
  • 69 Culture Cards (some repeated)
  • 35 Hut Tokens (some repeated)
  • 20 Village Tokens (some repeated)
  • 54 Building Tokens (many repeated)
  • 3 Manuals plus the Errata for easy reference

Civilization created by Sid Meier, property of Firaxis and 2K Games. You can purchase several of the games here on Steam- I especially recommend Civilization IV and Civilization VI as my favorite main entries in the series. I also highly recommend the Alpha Centauri[www.gog.com] spinoff/sequel which you can find on GOG.
Board game adaptation created by Fantasy Flight Games.[www.fantasyflightgames.com]

Thank you to the creator of the first CtBG mod for scanning in the market board and for the Scout models. Thank you to And1D for preserving said mod as best they could, allowing me to grab said resources.
Thank you to Scott of North for their Basic Flag mod which I used for the army figures.
Thank you to Lily for their amazing Kraken Table mod. You truly need a behemoth to play this game (especially when you have a full five players), and the Kraken is more than up to the task.
Thank you to prwillaims of Reddit for adapting the Civilization VI menu screen to a useable background.
Thank you to Bill Renkin for their spectacular constellation chart.[www.radicalcartography.net]

Try disabling mod caching, then going into it. The images are hosted on the Steam Workshop, which is still up. I have no idea where 2.1m.yt is, but it's not where the images are hosted in my mod.

Hi Mario, thanks a lot for the support.
I'm still facing the problem. I have played it years before... and now im trying to install again.
I have added other games and it is working perfectly..
I have tried to access the images directly by browse.. it didn't works too.. I think all images links from the game have changed URL or it is not available anymore.

I am getting a single error on the 5 Culture token, but that's nothing to do with a destination host. I think 2.1m.yt is your local files, everything I have is saved to the Steam workshop, like so: https://steamusercontent-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/764973415220197774/DE309870952B36358C090E8E2A8234C840392083/

It didnt work.. all errors are related to "Cannot resolve destination host".. I think some imagens are not available anymore.

It's a bug that TTS sometimes has with transparent tokens. Refreshing a few times with mod caching on should fix it.

Im getting errors on opening the game. Does it need to be updated?

I'm afraid I'm not interested in adding a fan expansion, but if you want to make it, then by all means, please use my mod as a base for it.

Hey Mario, thanks for your response! :) I've got another question: There's a 3rd fan-made Expansion out there, which is really cool: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1595747/a-self-design-new-expansion-the-3rd-expansion

The guy who made it, send me the files in good quality to print them but I was wondering if you could also implement them in tabletop simulator? I send you a friendship request on Steam, if you would be interested we can exchange mail. It's really cool, graphics look like they're from FFG. Greetings, Martin

"Great Mod! Thank you very much! I played a lot with friends during the pandemic and am rediscovering it now."

Glad it's been useful to you and your friends!

"Do you think it would be possible to create an AI with the Tabletop Simulator Lua API for it?"

I know very little about programming and nothing about Lua in particular. Though a game with this many rules would probably require a rather complex AI (doesn't mean it can't be done, just that it wouldn't be easy, even by AI standards).
