The only Moji guide ever needed
By DonutFilledJelly
According to https://www.thebettermeta.com, Moji is, in fact, not the trashyish champion in the realm. So, as a dedicated Moji one trick scrub, I'm here to explain both the basics and the advance game mechanics of moji, and how to actually play her in a way that well make people question weather or not you have left your parents basement yet.

Wtf is a Moji?
Believe it or not, there is a character within this game named Moji. She is a looney toons ripoff has a unique art style, and appears to have a lack of fingers. She has a two headed drake that has split personality disorder, which makes her the fourth character to bring an animal to the battlefield, after cassie, maldamba, and talus (who had to get makoa involved). Despite being too young to understand the glutoney like dark magic she has learned, she is quite a powerful magician that understands literally only 2 spells. These spells are enough to make her enemies cower in fear if used in the correct 3 fingered hands.

Moji's basics
Ready to learn the most controversial character in the game when it comes to competitive? Great. Well to start off we have you're favorite weapons of mass destruction, your heads of po-li

Now, it is easy to just spam these 2 guys together and just mash away, but please, dont do that... Instead, get the full amount of magic mark's on the player to obtain MAXIMUM DAMAGE. To show you how important it is to time your shots, here is some math.

Not stacking marks (Spamming both)= (100 / .6) + (50/.08) = 792 dps

Stacking marks (Waiting for full mark effect til left click)= (1000 / (.08 * 10)) + (50/.08) = 1875 dps

Now that's a lot of damage. You have to make sure to time your marks, and as long as you hit with full marks, it is almost certain you'll get more damage.

Moji also has 2 abilities, Magic Barrier and Scamper.

Scamper is a not so impressive mobility ability, where you increase speed drastically at the cost of rotation resistance. Not good on its own, but can be turned into one of the best abilities ever.

As for magic barrier, this pretty much is the best abilities out there on its own. Not only do you get to become invincible, but whoever even attempted to attack you are prone to a 1000 damage bite in the keister. But wait, there's more! So much more. This ability is too much, that I'll have to put most of it's stuff in the advance section of this guide.

Then finally, her ult.

I don't think that's the right picture... here, let me just...

There we are, looks like it always has. Anyways, her ult, at least in my opinion, is super under rated. Yes, it could use a slight touch to it, but when used correctly, it can be a major game changer, as it can do things other kill ults can't. Pretty much if you hit someone with this taste good smell, I mean spell, then it will transform that person into a luxurious meal for your disabled dragon. When eaten (Making contact with it), it puts you in a short animation, which then instantly kills the player that is the snack. I'll explain more of the deeper mechanics of it later on in the guide.
Later on in the guide (Advance Mechanics)
Good job, your on the later part of the guide. Ready to figure out why Moji is considered the worst character in the realm (at the time of making), despite the fact that when you fight one you cant ever kill her? Cool. Despite what the majority thinks (And I have done discussions and polls on this), most people consider Moji to be the most dead brained character within the game. Well, they are idiots, because some of these mechanics on Moji, not even the highest elo players know about.

Lets start off with her attacks. Sometimes when attacking with her spray and spit, it would do better to attack without stacking marks. For example, if there is a player that has 1900 health, all you need to do is hit one mark (Plus the spray), which leads that player down to 400hp. By the time you get that full mark, that player will be dead, so just go ahead and after hitting one mark on a maeve, spit without the marks, and you will kill her about .1-.2 seconds faster than waiting for that mark.

I know that last mechanic was extremely boring, but that is where the boringness stops.

With Moji's barrier, it is known that you can't take any damage what so ever while in her barrier. Well, that is not the only thing it does. You completely remove any negative effects that are on you if you use it (As long as you are able to), and it completely removes any cauterize effect on you (excluding willo's deadzone, god they need to nerf it already). With this, you can actually use it in the middle of a fight to gain heals from your healer, especially later in the game. It can save you a lot, especially if you run a regen loadout (which is the best loadout imo). Example.

Another great and extraordinarily difficult to consistently accomplish trick up Moji's magic fingers of no nos (Her barrier) is the double mark mechanic. If you don't know, Moji's familiar spit is a projectile, which means it takes a slight bit of time to hit it's target. That also means that if you can time it perfectly (Or fight an automatic gun), then you can actually spit right as you barrier. If the enemy hits you the moment you barrier, they will be marked before the projectile reaches them, which means you can do a full 1k damage as you are barriered, and if they hit you after your spit hits them, they will be marked again. That is a 2k damage burst from almost any distance. This mechanic is almost impossible to pull off on semi weapons however, especially if the player has a mind of not hitting the barrier, and it is hard to spit at the right moment in the heat of the battle. Here is an example.

Moving on to her scamper, Moji can cancel this ability at anytime, and if you jump off a edge with it, you could go farther than intended, which can be very useful. You really should use this ability to escape however, and expect to die if you have barrier in cooldown when you engage. Here is an example.

Another neat trick with her scamper is to use it right before you get stunned. If you do this, than Moji will still move in the direction you scampered to, even while you're stunned. It is good for escaping or dodging when they have CC.

If you time it right, you can spit and barrier right as your spit is being flung to kill someone. One that person gets hit with the spit, your barrier is already up, so the cooldown is already reduced from Peppy (See cards). This allows you to make an escape and have your barrier up much sooner. I use this quite often. Example

As for her ult, there are so many good opportunities with this thing. First things first, if someone on the enemy team has resil 3, doesn't mean that you can't ult them. It just means you got to get up close and personal. This ult can specialize in a lot of things, and is very good for wiping out an important target for a kill, but it can do so much more than that. See that drogoz in the sky? Can't hit him cause he is too far up there? Ult him to ground him. Even if you can't catch up to the snack, he will be close enough for you to do damage. What's that? Tyra ulted? Snipe her with this tasty concoction and it will literally cancel her entire ult! Here is the big one. Are you the last one on your team alive and the enemy ash just ulted alone on point to save her team the point? No she didn't. You're here. Just ult that son of a khan and run right up for dinner. It goes through invincibility ults (Example). The 2 major flaws with her ult is one: It doesn't go through CC reduction and two: the animation leaves you vulnerable, however this is counterable. A few things you can do to prevent dying while eating the remains of the biscuit so conveniently placed in front of you is by either scampering up to munch the snack down at a high velocity, or to barrier your wait to it, but the scampering is a safer bet, as it lets you go in and grab it real quick, while going through the animation during the scamper.
How to play her
When playing moji, running in and getting a bunch of damage can be difficult sometimes. Good teams will group together and protect each other, or other players will stay at an untouchable distance. Here I will tell you how to resolve these said issues.

First things first, while in a game, you need to learn to adapt. A good thing to spend your first life on is the flanking part, where you take a wide route with cover to reach their damage and support. You need to make sure your out of their sight till you're right next to them, just to make sure they can't get distance. However, sometimes they can stun, out damage, or keep you at range, making it difficult to confirm kills. If that is showing, then move on to...

Melting tanks. Find a good spot where you have access to the point and play with your tanks to kill the other tanks. Your dps is crazy, and can really annihilate any tanks around. Make sure you take points of cover so that the enemy damages don't snipe or burst you. In situations like this, it is much more common for you to do well. Of course, if someone is low, or one of the champions that does well against you has died, feel free to rush to their backline and take out their supports. If these things continue to fail, and playing with your team appears to not work up front, lastly you can

Protect your backline. Prevent enemies from flanking and make sure to use your barrier only when low. If you can prevent the flanks, it protects your support just that much more. This is a lot easier if you can play with your off tank.

You want to use your abilities to usually end a battle, but when you see someone missing even just a bit of health, and you think you can confirm that kill, feel free to scamper to them. However, do be cautious, as you scamper is part of your healing kit if you use toot. One thing to never do is run in without your barrier on standby, as you might get bursted down in an instant. You should also never run in and barrier at full health, as you wont get any use of the no caut out of it. Always use your barrier around 30-50% health. If you are at about 10% health and get no healing, they can perfectly time a quick bop to your head to finish you off out of your barrier.
Her cards. All of them.
Moji has 2 talents. Toot and Boom Boom. Which is kinda strange, cause all the other characters have 3. Except Inara. She only has 2 as well.

Toot

Literally the best thing to exist. Sad that they nerfed it. Almost always do you want to use this one, cause I cant think of situations when you wouldn't. The reason I would choose this over boom is because this is consistent survivability, compared to situation damage. You can pair this with your barrier real well, as it is for sure a 400 health boost. A neat little trick with the talent is that if you use it, leave it, and reenter, you get double the healing. How fun.

Boom Boom

Shouldn't be picked over Toot. You'll rarely use this one. Maybe if you were going a life rip loadout, but I wouldn't recommend it for ranked. Just for funsies.

Snack attack

I hate this with a passion! Why did they get rid of yummy? It was the best thing ever? Its snack attacks fault! If a moderator or Champion assembly member sees this, please tell hi-rez to replace this with yummy again. No one uses this. Toot is straight up better.

On to the cards

Boop

This one is ok. I myself personally don't think Moji needs much of a speed boost, but it can be real decent for escape. Good for a lvl 1 or 2 filler card, but Glimmer kind of is better. No need to max.

Cozy

Real good for high elo, as a lot of players will not hit you while in barrier. Make sure to put this at 3 or 4 in at least one kit for situations where you dont fight automatics.

Dense Woods

Another good filler card. That .8 seconds is a lot of time. This helps when chasing a viktor and such, but usually very situational. Should really only stick at lvl 1, and only if you pick it.

Fluffy

A all around good card. What you would expect. Very helpful at lvl 1, as it can change a few interactions. Probably the best filler card out there. Amazing at lvl 1, good at 2-3, and can be used at max if wanted.

Glimmer

Pretty awesome card, especially if fighting terminus or you want to play very passive. Will help in a good amount of situations, but a lot of times doesn't do much, as scamper is pretty much a speed boost for you. This just helps you get out of bad situations you might put yourself in. Decent at any lvl, but wouldn't recommend cause Moji doesn't need speed.

Greater Good

I personally dislike this card. There are better heal cards you can have out there that can heal you for more. Even at max, you only get 400 health per hit, which other cards can do more with the abilities, plus this is extremely counterable by caut. Can't recommend it, I would use other heal cards, unless if you are very persistent with boom boom.

Harmonious

Probably one of Moji's best cards. I would max this out, or at least put it at 4. Only time you shouldn't use this is if you are up against snipers and burst only. If they have 2 autos or quick firing champions, use it. Best part of this card is that you can get the health more then once. You can get a full heal with this ability alone. Good at lvl 4 and 5, but shouldn't use as a filler.

Morning Breath

I don't use this, but I think it has been under my radar a bit too much. This one I need to do research on, as it might stack. Im going to assume currently it doesn't, however, so I will say it is a good filler card. You can have a slight speed boost to always reach and stick to your opponents, as you'll always be remarking them. Put at lvl 1 or 2, or 5 if you want to be super quick.

Nature's Blessing

I use this to meme around. Her ult is a bit situational, so you won't need it all the time. However, having a instant win in almost any 1v1 is nice, so it is pretty funny when spamming ults. Might need a buff, however, as strix has a way better version of this card. I mean come on, he gets 5% with 1200 damage while moji gets like 1% for remarking, which will probably only happen when you hit them for 1000+600 damage from spray. Not competitively viable.

Peppy

You want this. You have to run this. If you don't run this because "Oh, if one enemy is down, than the rest is all good an we won the fight cause it is a 4v5" then you are part of a terrible idea team. If I run in, get 1k damage on Lian, barrier, and finish Lian, Im going to want my barrier back asap. I need to make sure I have barrier all the time, and best way is with this card. It will get you out of so many bad spots, and allows you to scamper in their backlines, take out a dude, and scamper out again before their frontlines knows what hit them. This is a must have at lvl 4 or 5, especially in ranked.

Scoot

Pairs well with peppy and toot, as you can get a lot of healing from your scamper when you have no caut. Good to have at lvl 2 as a filler.

Scurry

Pretty good, allows for a lot of quick heals, just make sure you barrier before scampering to remove the caut. Good to have at both low and high lvls. Not needed.

Shimmering

It is ok, but it's ratio isn't as good as scoot's ratio. This gives you your barrier back more, so it is good to use against auto guns, as they will hit you the most in your barrier and have the least punishment for it. Good to have at lvl 2 or 3.

Symbiotic

A really really good card. You probably will want this at like lvl 4, as it makes all your heal abilities that much better. It also will save you in a ton of situations and helps out the support. Not needed all the time, just is very convenient.

Will-o-wisp

Don't use this... it is straight up worse than the other 2 speed boost cards. Plus, it is only for kills, not elims. For sure not worth it. Only 2 seconds which won't do anything.

Wobbles

Another underrated card that I think is real good. This will save you in a good bit of situations. Really comes down to what you prefer. I personally don't use this card, but I don't think it is bad. Put this at any level really.

My personal kits

My main, for when I don't know what else to pick.

Toot- Health
Cozy-3 Gives me a for sure amount of health
Peppy-4 Helps keep cooldowns low
Scurry-3 A little extra healing
Symbiotic-3 More healing
Scoot-2 More scampers FOR MORE HEALING.

This kit always does the job I need. It isn't particularly good against anyone specifically, but is all around a good base kit. Used when I don't have anything else.

My kit I use against 2 or more quick firing guns.

Toot- Health again
Harmonious-5 Gives massive heals
Peppy-5 Want barrier all the time
Morning Breath-1 I like to move slightly faster to stick to players
Symbiotic-1 Nice for a tad bit more health
Shimmering-3 Get all the barriers

Lastly, a kit I rarely use, specifically if I am fight a Dredge and Mal'damba and my team has both shields and deployables.

Toot- Cause I love heals
Greater Good-4 Because they won't get much caut
Shimmering-3 Cause barrier good
Fluffy-2 Extra health never hurts
Peppy-5 Because I like escapes.
Glimmer- 1 For that little bit of escape ability.

Make a kit that fits your style too. Don't just blindly follow mine.
Against other champs A-G
This will be long. I will be describing interactions and counters to every single champion from a-z.

Androxous

Andro is a bit of a spooky boy. His flight makes him mobile, however, it isn't difficult to get him with your spray when he does this. Try spitting him between dashes. Obviously when he ults, barrier and try to bait the shots. If he pulls up reversal, wait till near the end, and if he was fed, barrier, especially if he has God slayer. However, if he has defiant fist, make sure you time you barrier at around 40% of your health so you can absorb is additional punch damage.

How hard does moji counter andro (Counterability): 8/10 Andro doesn't have too much of a chance

Ash

Ash, the backline bully. Be careful when fighting against her. Her shield makes her hard to mark, however, getting in the right position you can melt her down. She has low damage, meaning that you'll win most one on ones, but her easy to hit shots and decent range makes her hard when she is pounding you while you are attacking someone else. When she starts her dash, barrier. Avoid the 800 burst. One thing real good on this match up though is that your ult is one of few ults that completely counters hers. Always save your ult for her. Get caut to counter her.

Counterability: 7/10 Good match up for you

Atlas

Oh boy, its scary big dude time. Atlas is terrifying, especially when playing moji. His headshots are easy to hit, and combine that with Mojis large hitbox, he will have a lot of damage on you. His right click can completely deny any healing from your abilities. In order to counter this, avoid barriering until he rewinds you. The best way to deal with him is to burst him down quick enough for him to notice.

Counterability: 4/10 A ruff match up, but not impossible. Fight with big caution.

Barik

Båŕïķ can use his shield and turrets to prevent your spit from hitting him. Find a way to get around it and aim at his head to go over turrets. When fighting him, you want to use the heal on hit barrier card, as his turrets will constantly heal you. While he can out play you, he is a slow damaging tank with the lowest of health. His ult is decent against you, but you can barrier or scamper out of it. He is hard to hit your ult on, so only use it on him for last minute ult denial for him.

Counterability: 7/10 Can't kill you quick enough to finish you, turrets feed you.

Bomb King

You're screwed You're about to have a bad time You're already dead know this will be a tough matchup. Bk has massive burst, the highest potential out there, but makes up for it in his relatively big hitbox. To bad Moji doesn't really need those. A good bk will always find ways to take you out, weather it be the range he keeps with his puppy, the force barriers with his grumpy, or the insane burst he can get on your delayed hit box when you scamper, there is almost no way you can when against him. One of the toughest match ups. Only plus I can say here is that you can shut down his ult with your barrier. Otherwise, keep your distance, dont put yourself in this match up, and get someone else to take him out.

Counterability: 1/10 Do not get in his line of sight.

Buck

This match up is a bit sad. You should pretty much always win against a buck duel. Buck can only hit you if you cant barrier correctly. If he is running bounce house, barrier right after he hits you with leap, he'll take a shot whenever he does that, giving him a mark, you a heal, and him in a bad time. As soon as your barrier stops blast him out of their (Time to kill buck is .8 seconds after barrier, enough to kill him between shots). If he runs ensnare, then barrier right when he nets you. That way he will never get bonus damage. He is a very simple match up

Counterability: 10/10 Buff buck. (Just kidding please dont break him)

Cassie

This one is tuff to say. On paper, she should be an easy kill. In game, she feels super hard to kill. She can burst you down in 3 shots, so usually you'll need to barrier earlier then you'd think. Problem with that is it is easy for her to not hit your barrier, so the heal on barrier hit card isnt good against her. Her dodge roll is good for escaping you as she gets it a lot, and the best advice I can give you is to use scamper to engage her if needed, as escape from her is near impossible.

Counterability: 5/10 Will be a bit tuff, but very possible. Attempt to avoid.

Dredge

My second favorite piece of cancer, dredge. As a part time dredge main, teleports are handy, but rarely ever come to play. As a moji main, teleports are always their... either way, dredge is not hard to kill as Moji. Usually, you can find a flank on him while he is busy spamming the point. You can out damage him and his lack of mobility can prevent him from dodging your shots. You can use his barage to heal with the on hit barrier card. One situation that I have to warn is when he blocks a door with his spam, dont go in, even with barrier. You cant tell what is on the other side, such as other champions.

Counterability: 8/10 Would be 9 but he can do well against you on certain maps

Drogoz

Despite what you might think, drogoz does not heavily counter Moji all that well. Usually the Drogoz isn't always ariel, and when he is, he is usually close enough for you to mark. You can quickly melt him down before he can do much about it. His ult also sucks against you, as you can just barrier before he hits you, making you untargetable.

Counterability: 6/10 A fairly even matchup. Should get some good flanks on him.

Evie

Hippity Hoppy your teleports are sloppy. A really good Evie can only do so much, but usually when it comes to someone taking her out, it is your job. You can solo her 90% of the times, and usually she puts herself in the situation. It's easy for her to hit your barrier, and you spray is constantly on her. She can't out damage you and you can barrier out of her ult. She SUCKS against you. Well, that is till she keeps her distance, in which case barrier and spit to scare her away.

Counterability: 9/10 as long as you stay in the small and enclosed areas, or in your back line, you'll beat her hard

Fernando

This one is akward. You cant take him out easily because his shields are hard to hit through, yet he cant take you out easily cause he has low damage and will heal you a lot with your heal card. A pretty big stale mate. Usually in a one on one, you'll win the match up, and he can't add much against you in a team fight. Ulting him wouldn't be bad.

Counterability 7/10 You can get around him easily.

Furia

On paper she should win, in reality, you normally win. She can keep her distance and get good damage on you, but usually is too focused on healing to notice you flanking her. Her heels can be annoying, but caut works well against that. The beam makes her vulnerable, so use it to your advantage. Dont be afraid to back out, though start with your barrier, as she can finish you off pretty easily if you scamper away.

Counterability: 7/10 You can take her out fairly easily

Grohk

The one character that excels at fighting multiple enemies. His ghost walk cancels your marks, and he can consitantly hit you, but that makes his weakness you barrier. Use it to heal a ton against him. Should be easy in duel scenarios.

Counterability 8/10: will stay with other damages making him hard to get to.

Grover

The organic man with a hole in his chest isnt the worst to fight, as cauterize can severely hurt him. Just be careful with your scamper when his right click is ready. Your barrier will get you out of his cripple.

Counterability: 7/10 Dont let him snipe or catch you off gaurd

Against more champs I - R
Imani

Who? Oh, that one chick with that dragon familiar. Yeah, Idk. Never really fight her. She is decently good I would say cause she can keep distance and burst you while avoiding barrier. Her ult is good against you. In other words, I think she is a pretty good counter to moji. When fighting, make sure you surprise her so she cant escape. Barrier to get away from ult or out of ice bomb.

Counterability: ?/10 Wait who is this again?

Inara

Literally the most fun thing to fight as Moji. It is hilarious to watch Mom Inara melt in health as you spray her down to a form of liquid stone... man we should get a lava inara skin
Her dps is too low to do much against you, and the burst mode like attack she has means it is easy for her to hit your barrier. Ulting her is fun, but melting gives me a sensation like no other. You can barrier out of her smashing pebble (her f ability thing), even if she is running treacherous grounds. Same goes for Inara's ult. Can't put stacks on her wall, so bulldoze won't really work well.

Counterability 9/10 God it is way too fun

Io

Oh God what is that? Just kill it already, ugh. Io is an interesting one. Her stuns are not on demand, making it easy for you to avoid it. It mostly is by chance when attempting to kill her. If she stuns you, then you might die if other players are around. Otherwise, easy 1v1. You can time you barrier right to block the stun when you see it coming though. Also, most the time you should save your scamper for when she dashes. Barrier when she ults if she has it, as you can block it.

8/10 her healing can screw with you, you'll want caut.

Jenos

So much for ascending just to literally die to a fairy repeatedly. Jenos is a pretty easy target for you, as a lot of times they will try to run, but your burst will be too much for them to escape. If they get cover, scamper to them. If they grip you, scamper or barrier to get out of it, or just burst him while he does it. He is fairly good to fight against. If he is the team's only healer, you can get chronos before caut, which will make it way easier for you.

Counterability 8/10 Watch for damage amp and binary star.

Khan

A interesting matchup. I'd give this one to Khan. He has very sustainable dps, and his shield easily protects him against you, as you do little shield damage. He can kill you quite fast and his grab makes you super vulnerable. Prioritize ulting him in games. Barrier or scamper before he grabs you as your scamper keeps you moving when you get cc'd. He probably will ult you. Put marks on him when he screams.

Counterability: 5/10 Learn to run from him, unless you have ult. Then get close and personal.

Kinessa

Screw Kinessa. Get off the high edges with your teleport! You ain't cool! Strix is cool! Either way she can take you out easier than strix, as her teleport will save her against you cause she can reach high spots fast. Her range is also amazing against you, and her accuracy makes headshots easy on you. Find real good flank routes, and if she is on high ground, swoop around a large amount or see if someone can counter snipe. Might be worth not picking Moji against if the map is good for snipers.

Counterability: 4/10 You'll get her if you jump her on flat land.

Koga

Kogan just kinda sucks in general, and I dont think I have ever seen a good kogan player. It's hard to get marks on him, as his dash can cancel it. Easy win if he is in claw mode. Best to fight with teammate, and isnt hard to avoid. Barrier when he ults.

Counterability: 6/10 A good Koga will kill anyone, but at least you can run easily.

Lex

Moji is actually a war criminal, which causes Lex players to hover and target you individually. When he right clicks, easy barrier marks. When he slides, easy spray marks. You can out damage him pretty easily and his escape sucks, so it is a real easy matchup.

Counterability: 9/10

Lian

The war crime Moji commits is related to this individual. Lian can get very large burst on Moji and can kill her at range. However, if the Moji can find ways to get close, it can be very easy for Moji. Her mobility doesn't allow for escape. Make sure when fighting her that you must save your barrier for her ult. Don't let her get that 50% ult charge. Use scamper barrier combo to heal up against her caut she will for sure get. She is like cassie with her burst and difficulty, just a tad bit easier.

Counterability: 6/10 Make sure you don't run straight at her, use scamper for heal.

Maeve

Maeve probably should be the front page character instead of Androxous. I mean come on, look at all the attention she gets. Anyways, Maeve is an interesting one. You can do extremely well against her. Your spray is very easy to get and the spit isn't hard to predict on her. You also kill her with 1 spit and a bit of spray, making it real quick. Only problem is if she can find range on you, but that beats her whole point. Little tip against her is to barrier whenever she ults, even a naked barrier out of combat is fine. It let's you see as soon as you do it, allowing you to make callouts for your team.

Counterability: 8/10 That one execution ability can be annoying sometimes.

Makoa

Makoa is good against literally everyone. If he isn't banned, you should definitely pick him over anyone else. When going against him, it can be tough. You can always melt him from a decent distance, but if you get hooked, your barrier might not save you. That split second of instant stunt can ruin any player, and to drag you in the middle of their team can wreck you. If he isnt running leviathan, ult him when he ults.

Counterability: 5/10 but pretty much everyone is hard to play against Makoa.

Mal'damba

Mal'bambi is strong at healing, not the best at fighting. That is especially true with Moji. His stun is easy to predict with your barrier, and his ult is avoidable. His heal isnt enough to save him and caut can make it ruff for him. His mobility does remove his marks, but it doesn't get him far. His dps is no where near enough to kill you. Pretty much, he is a free kill, and is surprisingly easy to kill. Almost aleays will you kill him if you target him hard.

Counterabilit: 9/10 his heels are real high, so might mess with you mid game.

Moji

Now this won't happen in ranked, so don't worry about it there. If this happens in casual, then here is some advice. Whenever you hit their barrier, barrier right as theirs end. That way the mark will disappear, and they will hit you in barrier instead. Also, always ult the other Moji. They'll start ulting you too, and that would be a waste. Idk what else to say, as it is literally fighting the same.

Counterability: 5/10 Not saying Moji counters Moji, but you know, it's a even match up.

Pip

Not Moji's friend. She never met this man(?) before in her life. Sources: her voice lines. Ever way, pip is another strange one. His slow can be countered with your barrier and his ult can also be deflected if you time barrier right. His heal is not good against caut cause of your spray, and he is fairly easy to hit with it. All around not the best against you.

Counterability: 7/10 He can run easily and his damage can be underestimated

raUM

Raum likes to shoot his gun a lot, and I mean a lot. If you are happening to be up against raum, and they have a second tank, morale boost wouldnt be a terrible item to pick up. Honestly, if you are using a liferip loadout, he can do 900 damage per second compared to your 700 heals per second, while he heals 600 health per second compared to your 1700 damage per second. You are gonna win that fight. Use your barrier to either back up, or to block his ult, as he is easy to block.

Counterability: 9/10 It is impossible to miss him and impossible for him to not hit your barrier.
Against the rest of the champs R - Z
Ruckus

Ruckus Ruckus Ruckes. What can I say about you. He either will completely suck or be a god. Almost always use the barrier heal card against him, as it is impossible for ruckus to stop aiming at you instantly. He is a good ult target, as he has nothing to block it with. Whenever he ults, jump in front of him and barrier to protect your team. You might die doing this though.

Counterability: 7/10 He'll find a way to prevent you from killing others... probably.

Seris

Very easy to kill. Will first some reason miss some shots. Easy to burst down, and you can usually kill her before she shadow travels. If she shadow travels, listen for it and follow. As long as she shadow travels she can't heal. Her ult is easy to barrier before it lands, so make sure to do that.

Counterability: 10/10 Never lost to a seris and she fights a downhill battle.

Sha lin

BURST. He has some things that counter you, and you have things that counter him. You'll probably win. His bow and arrow will destroy you at range, but as soon as you close the gap, he is a goner. You do more dps than his plant ability, and you can spray to find him when invisible with the damage indicators. Honestly, as long as you get a flank route, he is donezo.

Counterability: 9/10 No escape. Only wins at range.

Skye

Laughs in dps output. She has high dps, and maybe even higher than yours on tanks, but it is Skye. She won't get away. You dont even need illuminate. If you see smoke bomb, just spray around and you find her, then you can burst her down when you do. Prepare to get called a hacker for findunging the numbers in the obvious area Skye is within. If poison bolted, just barrier and she probably will hit you on accident as well as canceling the poison damage.

Counterability: 8/10 She might burst you down every now and then, but you'll win most.

Strix

Who? Who. Boy can he be a pain in the Christian Morals. His range is good, his dps is crazy at close, his burst is high, but his speed is slow. As soon as you engage him, only one will make it out. He will destroy you on a few maps, especially stone keep and serpent beach. On other maps, you got a good chance. As soon as you are near him, he doesn't have much of a chance. Invisible doesn't work for him as you can spray him, and you can barrier as soon as he rifles you. Just make sure no one else will help him when engaging, and careful when coming out of your barrier as he'll hit you with the rifle again sometimes.

Counterability: 6/10 Dont care about his low winrate, nerf him again.

Talus

Your barrier will do well. Try to avoid hitting your mark until the mark will kill him, that way he wont teleport before he dies. His ult wont work well against you, and it is easy to counter flank him. All around a real good matchup for you. Careful of his burst.

Counterability 9/10 Camping teleports is worth it

Terminus

A pretty fun match up. His shypen can be a little annoying, but your ult works well against him. Whenever he die, try standing on top of him to bait it out, then barrier when he does. If he is chasing you and is swinging at you, barrier and run towards your team. You can burst him down real quick from the side, so make sure to attack him from a different angle than your team. If he jumps up and is about to stun or slow you, scamper to your team, as the stun and slow don't effect it.

Counterability: 9/10 Pretty easy to keep distance.

Torvald

Grandpa here is a bit of a sad story. This evil doer (according to his lore) can be the death of you if you let him. His silence is terrifyingly strong against you, as your escape options disappear. If you encounter him, drag him out alone, and then you can burst him. If that is not an option, keep you distance so he can't silence you. Barrier during his ult to avoid knockback.

Counterability: 6/10 Shields are easy to break through for you. Also Torv never really uses silence.

Tyra

Oh God she sucks now. Before hand, Tyra was pretty bad against Moji, with her mark being the only problem. Now, she has nothing! She cant get away from you, you out damage her in every way, and her ult isnt going to do anything but feed your barrier. Stuck in her fire cause she ran burn monster? Barrier out. She will feed your heal on barrier card so much. Just so easy to annihilate.

Counterability: 11/10 Look at how they massacred my boy girl.

Viktor

He is better at taking you out than Tyra. He actually has range, can run from you to keep distance, and has very good dps. Make sure that you jump him so he has no time to escape. They typically run off on their own, so that makes them easy pickings. If he ults, throw yourself in the open and barrier incoming ults. Soak up all the sweet ult.

Counterability: 7/10 Cod boy vs looney toon character

Vivian

Despite Moji's inability to stack marks on shields, this is the one exception where wrecker is viable. Her shield wont really stomp you, but it is noticable. If you barrier and she pulls up shield with the marks, aim for the feet obviously. She can burst you down, so barrier before you expect it, and you'll get lots of heals from her.

Counterability 7/10 A more even match up.

Willo

Willow is really good right now. Moji can kill her pretty fast however, unless of course the map has a ton of high spots. When fighting Willo, trap her in small rooms with you. That way she cant find high ground. If she ults, find cover, you can't do much against it. Also, watch out for deadzone, as it is the only caut in the game that goes through your barrier.

Counterability: 6/10 Has a massive hit box.

Ying

Ying has the only deployable in which you can get stacks on. It won't visually show it, but if you give it a sec then spit, the extra damage applies. You can burst her down tremendously quick, and she is easy to predict teleports. Her heals can screw you over however, and same with her damage, so watch for that.

Counterability: 8/10 Not a bad match up at all.

Zhin

He will not miss you... your hitbox is large, his projectiles are large, it's a game of chess. Stratigize against him. Counter flanking him is very viable. Dont barrier till he attacks with his third shot. Follow him if he smolders, he wont get far. Finally, his ult is very predictable. I cant explain the amount of times a zhin has tried to ult me and misses cause I barrier. It is at least 70% of the time.

Counterability: 8/10 This only applies if you can get the timings right. He will try to ult you.

That took a very long while.
End
Moji is a character only a few people like. I personally really enjoy this character. If you feel as though you are not enjoying her, and are not doing well at playing her, than don't. It is a feel that only a few players can get the hang of. If you do enjoy her, than that is great, don't let other people tell you she sucks. And don't use those words to use her in bad situations, cause you probably will, as of every character. Be careful when picking her in ranked, as she can be countered, especially on specific maps. And finally, don't forget to eat a healthy amount of snacks.

If you see any grammatical errors or think I should add something, let me know via comment section.

If this guide does well, I might make another one for dredge, then some other champions.

rezzing this dead guide to say moji is fucking useless lol

Yeah that seems logical, I don't play Moji much and am only level 12. I just was a little confused if it was a nerf/buff scenario where it was different at the time.

Makoa currently is in a bad state, and because of that, moji now has a much better chance against makoa, but still will have some difficulties when being hooked. If he hooks you when you engage, you should be fine cause of the shield. But if he hooks you while you are retreating or arnt paying attention, he can easily catch you with your shield down

Hm, one thing I would disagree with is Makoa, might just be a non-updated thing, but koa is pretty easy to counter haha.

Still a great guide tho!

True, I was a little confused as to why you said you liked Symbiotic. If you updated this guide that'd be pretty dope though.
DonutFilledJelly  [author] Sep 27, 2020 @ 11:21am
This guide is outdated now. I might eventually update it, but idk. Lots has change, such as the buck match up, he counters moji now, and symbiotic is a real bad card now.

If you could add tiberus then it would be better but I got 2 things to say about this 1. A Imani player who knows the map and flank point can ruin a moji badly with a fake out fire cannon (start animation then look up or down) and good management of her fire ice swaps. but put an 6/10 because not that many good imani players

and 2. snack attack has its moments where toot dosent for like just used scoot and you get caught in a dead zone or if your in tdm or doing a roaming moji. but hey we all have personal liking's like how I prefer power of the cossmium over luminary as jenos
