"Great game! I'd like to thank everybody at CodeHorizon - this game is a lovechild"
  • Date: 2019/09/08
  • Game Version: 1.5.5.12852
  • Game Settings: Normal, Nuggets on
TL;DR:
  • exploit nugget event
  • be efficient
  • take wise investment decisions
Getting started - Plan your day

Investing in Heavy Equipment
  • prices will change seasonally
  • high prices in summer
  • low prices in winter
  • lowest prices on last day before permafrost
  • initially 3-4% increase/day
Note: Get your behind into gear, large investments will be way more expensive tomorrow. Prices will change at 0:00 ingame time, plan your trips accordingly.

Note: Fast travel spots need to be unlocked individually for $200.000 each . They are no viable option right now. Remember, crashing your truck will decrease the durability of spare parts - you'll need a jack to change a tire ... and it's a long walk into town.

Haines, Alaska - No time for sightseeing
D01 - Time sensitive

Messaggio originale di *SPOILER ALERT*:
Stay focused, you've got a schedule to meet, but if you're feeling cocky, you might want to do a little research. Many story parts can be picked up along the way, most locations are literally next to the road. You'll be rewarded with a discount on fuel and spare parts. (e.g.:hotel, railway crossing, 3x factory, hog pan, 2x blacksmith)
Strategize your savegame game.
  • identify neuralgic points
  • save manually
  • use proper descriptions
  • clean up the savegame mess you've created, before you quit the game
Note: Saving after you've gotten creative with loading your truck will create unpredictable results. It might work, but most likely there will be a mess after loading the game.

(2019/09/19) Edit: Jerrycan & Fuel (+$50)
Messaggio originale di LPMD.M3mphistus:
Put the Jerry Can on the first shopping list - including filling it up.

Why?
Because I perfectly started digging at 10am with my most efficent strategy. At 12:45am I ran out of fuel and only had 379g Gold and one full Bucket of Goldsand.
Thank you LPMD.M3mphistus for pointing that out! Running out of fuel on a speedrun is the worst!

----- 10:00 ----- Location: OA Parcel ----- working

Messaggio originale di *SPOILER ALERT*:
There will be time to appreciate your new property in the future, get moving.
As you're not planning on serving much time in the "hole", do it quick and dirty. It all depends on how much paydirt you'll be able to move. Stay close to your golden retriever. Once you've figured out the voxel based terraforming mechanic, use it to your advantage (check this discussion: https://steamcommunity.com/app/451340/discussions/0/1638669204748884018/ ). "Below the surface dirt" is a thing right now! But as the hog pan has a fixed gold output (ca. 60g/bucket), it's hardly woth it anyways.
Hog Pan Area
  • set up hog pan and pump
  • start digging 10:00 (latest)
  • go mental for nuggets until water freezes
  • goal >700g
  • race back to town

Edit (2019/09/19):
LPMD.M3mphistus, MVP! Thanks for sharing your strategy.
Messaggio originale di LPMD.M3mphistus :
My Strategy
1. Fill up Hog Pan with 9 Shovels (each Shovel 11,2 % -> 9 Shovels 100,8%)
2. Turn on Pump
3. Wait for processing
4. Shut off Pump
-> Repeat.

In this way you get 1% on each mat per Shovel. If you let the pump run you get a little less then 1% out of each shovel and you have a much higher fuel consumption.
With my Strategy the fuel consumption is only a little bit higher then 1% per run.

Note: No royalties have to be paid for nuggets. If you're lucky, you can skip the hand panning part. Take advantage of the nugget event, while it lasts.

Back in town - Go big, or go home!
----- 19:00 ----- Location: Haines ----- smelting, equipment

Blacksmith
  • calculate roalyalties, keep it in gold
  • smelt all you can
  • sell raw ore (or) race to bank, sell, return
  • smelt remaining gold

Old Glenn Bank
  • sell gold bars
  • goal >$25000
- optional -
  • repay loan
  • take loan to reach goal

Almost there - It's all about logistics
----- 22:00 ----- Locations: Haines, Parcel ----- logistics

Transport
Consider how much stuff you'll be able to haul at once. Balancing loading time vs. amount of trips is elementary. It's not rocket science - but certain things won't stack well on top of eachother.
  • race back to your parcel
  • remember: No accidents, no losing stuff!
Note: Take the mobile washplant home first.

Parcel
Messaggio originale di *SPOILER ALERT*:
Now that you own a minimum T2 setup, you have to be creative. Figure out the hose stretching mechanic, you'll only need 1 fat hose to reach those locations, indicated above. You can stretch a 50m hose to 60m easily, without penalty
  • set up tier 2 washplant
  • race back to town
Note: Don't waste too much time on the T2 setup. It's more important to be back in town before midnight.

Mining Store
  • pick up mobile fueltank

Gas Station
Messaggio originale di *SPOILER ALERT*:
Big machinery is awesome, but useless without gas.Remember the discount on fuel for collecting story pieces? Later on, get the big fuel tank - it can be refilled on site at midnight!!! Saves you tons of time.
  • fill up mobile fueltank $2800
- optional -
  • fill jerrycans x*$60
  • refuel truck $200
= $3000+/-
-> cash $5000

Rent the Big Boy - Happy digging
D02 - Fuel sensitive

----- 0:00 ----- Locations: Haines ----- rent equipment

Stephen Batty - Heavy equipment
  • rent heavy excavator $2681
  • target 0:01 for best cost/time ratio
  • transport fees $1500
= $4181
-> cash $819

Now get back to your claim and be creative, tons of paydirt are waiting to be moved.

Note: Doublecheck! If you need anything from town, now would be the time.

You can skip Tier 2.

followed your instruction and I then drilled the entire field in each square in 1 day. This way you collect enough gold to buy Tier 3 Complete. From day 3 you have everything you need for Tier 3 without even having used Tier 2 once or washing the gold buckets out of your guide.

Actually it's not necessary to buy the hog pan with pump nor the sluiceboz extesion, and you can do it with only a 600 bucks loan, well, that's how I did

gotcha.im just trying to find a good guide in english that describes the best way out of teir two.pref without taking out a bunch of loans
alonzoburns  [autore] 7 mag 2020, ore 19:31
@sethtothemax: guide is called "Tier 2 at day 2", of course it's optimized for speed. As prices for machinery will increase during summer, "playing it slow" will take up much more time ... but of course you can do it. But be warned, yields are rather sh*tty with tier 1.
white.is.tiger 7 mag 2020, ore 14:08
can we get a less hectic version without loans or renting?

Here a quick summary from me

Day 01
lots of time left. between 16:00 and 19:00 i searched pages because i had already 800gr. Gold only from the Nugget drops.

Day 02
I startet Digging at 0:20 ( rented the big Excavator at 0:01)
around 14:00 to 17:00 i bought the Magnatite Trailer, and brought the Magnetite to the factory. only 15k so not worth it. Maybe on Day 05.
Also i smelted around 2700 gr. of Gold.

At the end of Day 02 that are my actual stats:

Money: 100k
Gold: 758 gr (including Royalties.)
Magnetite: 15k
Royalties: 281 gr.

Moved Earth: 993,26 m³

Hi LPMD.M3mphistus,
thank you for your contribution! I've edited your comments into the appropriate sections of the guide (cf. 9am, 10am). Happy digging, everyone.

Fantastic work on this guide. I am almost tempted to start a new game to try it out. (Currently almost done with Pine Valley. 12K to 17K ounces a season.)

Thank you, davyderison1976. I will share my strategy, as soon as it's foolproof.
