Howdy, miners!

It’s time to fire up your engines and head back to the claims! Season #44 of the Leaderboards officially starts TODAY. We’ve got new rules, fixed physics, and some "paws-itively" unique rewards waiting for the best prospectors.

🔧 Update 1.10.6 – Patch Notes

Before you start digging, we’ve pushed a few quick adjustments to improve your experience:

Excavator Fix: We’ve reverted the change to the bucket dropping dirt angle for more natural operation.
Big Dozer Stability: Adjusted collisions to significantly reduce the chances of your Dozer taking unexpected flight lessons. 🚜💨

🏆 Season #44 Rules & Modifiers

This season will test your management skills and exploration:

Linear Progression: You must buy claims in a specific order. Each one unlocks only after you’ve bought out the previous one:
- Old Arnold’s ➡️ Rivertown ➡️ Pine Valley ➡️ Nighthawk
Treasure Hunter Bonus: Collect all chests on the map to receive an instant reward of 600 oz of gold! 💰

✅ Graphical updates to bring Alaska to life like never before.

✅ Reworked controls for better precision.

Because we are focusing on these big changes, there will be fewer small updates in the coming months. We’re "going dark" to build something huge, and we appreciate your patience as we prepare the biggest update in GMS history!

🛠️ MODDING IS NOW OFFICIALLY ALLOWED! 🚜✨

Howdy, Miners!

For a long time, we’ve heard your requests regarding mod support. Until now, our EULA had strict rules against modifying game files, which understandably held back many creative minds in our community.

Today, that changes.

We have officially updated our EULA to remove the restrictions on modding! We want to empower you to customize your mining experience, experiment with mechanics, and share your creations with the world.

🌟 Inspiration from the Community

This decision was sparked by a talented modder (mishuuw) who recently reached out to us after bringing Gold Mining Simulator to Nexus Mods with three incredible starting mods! Seeing that passion convinced us that it’s time to step back and let you build upon the world we’ve created.

📍 Where to start?

While we aren't launching a full Steam Workshop integration yet (as it would require significant amout of time the we prefer to put in developement of GMS2 to release it faster), the success on Nexus Mods proves that where there’s a will, there’s a way!

QA Playtest Report - Gold Mining Simulator (Tutorial Phase)
Tester: Andrés

Environment: Tutorial / Early Game

Status: Failing (Critical Path Blocked)

1. [P0 - Blocker] Soft-lock: Insufficient funds for mandatory refueling
Description: The tutorial instructs the player to refuel the vehicle, but starting funds are insufficient to complete the transaction.

Expected Result: The tutorial should provide enough initial credit or the first refuel should be scripted as free to prevent a soft-lock.

Actual Result: Player is stuck without gas and without money to buy it.

2. [P1 - High] Performance: Frequent loading hitches and freezes
Description: Constant "micro-loading" occurs every few meters, causing the game state to freeze.

Expected Result: Seamless world streaming or optimized asset loading.

Actual Result: Severe stuttering that disrupts immersion and gameplay flow.

3. [P2 - Medium] Input/UX: Excessive interaction sensitivity (Key 'E')
Description: Interaction actions (refueling, gold panning) cancel immediately if the player moves or shifts the camera by a few millimeters from the prompt.

Expected Result: A reasonable interaction "leash" or buffer zone.

Actual Result: High frustration; the system is overly punishing for minor positioning adjustments.

4. [P2 - Medium] Physics: Vehicle drift and lack of friction
Description: The vehicle drifts uncontrollably without cause and rolls away on flat ground if the handbrake isn't engaged.

Expected Result: Gravity and friction should behave according to basic Newtonian physics.

Actual Result: The truck feels like it’s on an ice skating rink made of butter.

5. [P3 - Low] Controls: Clunky driving mechanics
Description: Overall vehicle handling is unresponsive and "clunky" (stiff steering/acceleration).

Expected Result: Smooth, responsive driving feedback.

Actual Result: Driving feels more like a chore than a functional game mechanic.
