Introduction and what you'll need (Minor Spoilers)
This guide will go over the locations of all chests on the maps that have them. As well as how to reach them and their contents. This guide will also include other things like the locations of all the obelisks. I won't go over what the obelisks are for. I'm going to keep the spoilers to a minimum for this guide.

The first thing to keep in mind is that while most chests are easy to spot and reach others will require specific gear or abilities to reach. These chests will look different than basic chests and usually have better rewards than typical chests.

To acquire these hard to reach chests you will usually need some kind of movement based modifier. These can include having a high jump value, the ability to bypass terrain or enemy units(Flight effect), or the ability to float. Floating is required to open chests that are adjacent to water or other map hazards.

Having Bzaro on you team can be very useful for this due to the fact that many of his monster classes provide some kind of movement based benefit such as the Pektite class providing the floating effect. Getting access to Bzaros' various monster classes can enable you to reach chests much earlier in the game than if you just wait till you reach points of the story where you can get gear that enables the movement based effects needed. Reiners Spymaster class as well as the vampire non-story character class can also provide passive abilities that bestow the flight effect.

There are also specific pieces of gear that can help you gain these effects such as the Hover Boots, Jet Boots, and Riftwalkers. You are not limited to only equipping one type of boot accessory. So you can mix and match them to provide whatever type of movement based effects you need.

The Jet boots give you a +40 to your jump value. The earliest place you can acquire them is in a chest on the Caravan Trail map.

The Riftwalkers give you the flight effect enabling you to bypass enemies and terrain when moving. The earliest you can get a pair of these is by completing all the rounds in the first tournament in Centina.

The Hover boots provide the hover effect. The earliest you can find a pair of these is on the map Bardvig Aqueduct. The chest on this map is hidden. Check below to see how to find it.

The Obelisks

Along the journey there will be a total of eight obelisks to activate. Each one you activate will give you a clue to find a treasure stash hidden on the Godstear Wastes map. Most are out in the open, but others are hidden by the terrain.
Missions and Monsters dlc
The missions and monsters dlc doesn't add any new chests to the game, but it does enable you to reach the existing ones even earlier in the game. Once you unlock the wrangler class you can recruit monsters with the required movement abilities. The wrangler can be acquired once you are able to do the Thespeiran Byways missions, specifically "The monster mine" mission. This is several battles sooner than waiting till you can recruit Bzaro.

Any monster will work so long as they have the required movement effects. You can even mix the monster with a variant that provides another movement effect. For instance you could recruit a Pekite and give it the Aerial or Shadow variant and the Pekite would then have the floating and flight effects. This enables them to be very mobile on the field and can reach pretty much any chest in the game. Keep in mind you only gain these movement effects if you make them the primary variant. You will also need the Deft variant on the monster otherwise they will not be able to open chests at all. It does not matter if the Deft variant is used as their primary or secondary variant.
Timber Road

Coordinates: 0,10 / Contents: Sinewdle Fruit [Crafting Component]

Coordinates: 11,9 / Contents: Plate Glove [Accessory]

You won't be able to reach this chest the first time you play this map. In order to reach this chest you will need a character with a jump value of at least 8 or the flight effect. However you can use the Sinewdle Fruit from the other chest on this map to make Toad Boots. If you equip these to a unit with a 6 jump height it will give them just enough lift to reach it.
Alpine Woods

Location: 17,5 / Contents: Silver Spear [Spear]
Scarred Summit

Location: 13,8 / Contents: Dispelotron [Gadgeteer Gadget]

Location: 2,10 / Contents: Obelisk Clue 1

Location: 9,9 / Contents: Malcubus Helm [Heavy Helmet]

You cannot open this chest your first time on this map as it requires you to have the floating effect. The earliest you can acquire this chest is after getting Bzaro on your team and getting him the Pektite monster class which provides the floating effect. You'll just have to make sure he has at least an 8 for his jump in order for him to reach it.

If you have the missions and monsters dlc you also have the option of recruiting a pektite and getting it's jump to at least 8. Which can be done even earlier than waiting till you can get Bzaro.
The Azure Fields

Later in the story another battle will take place here. From here on the water in the lower part of the map will be drained making it so the chest can be reached without requiring the floating and flight effects. You will need at minimum a jump value of 12 to reach it, but at this point of the game you will likely have multiple means of giving a unit the flight effect making it much easier to reach.
Bardvig Aquaduct

In order to reveal the chest on this map you will have to have your units interact with the two valves on the map first at positions 12,2 and 12,7. This will drain the water in the central part of the map revealing the chest.

Ancient Path
The Ancient Path has several maps that unlock as you complete the next in the list. A few of these maps have units that continuously show up until you complete the objectives on them. These usually involve moving your units to a specific area of the map. When collecting the treasures on these maps it's usually better to return after completing the initial fights on these maps so you don't have to worry about the additional units constantly showing up.
Claret Woods

In order to reveal the chest you must activate a statue in the area by standing at 1,12 and interacting with the statue. This will drain the water in the lower part of the map revealing the chest.

Disclamer
This guide was built mostly with my own game play. Relying slightly on the wiki in case I forgot to write down what I got out of a chest. I give my consent for this to remain posted on steam's guide page for the game indefinitely. If I missed anything or you have further questions feel free to leave a comment.

Pektite = float

You need to be able to fly or teleport past those trees, alongside the movement. Either use boots which grant flying, or a Bzaro class which grants flying, Floating will not let you get past trees.

I am stuck on Oldezbar. "Reaching this chest requires you to have the flight effect. It also requires you to have one of the following: the ability to swim, hover effect, or a move of 7 or higher." I'm using Bzaro as a pekite and he's got a move of 7, but I cannot reach this chest. What am I missing?
