About This Guide

I think that Mafia III is a game with a great story and soundtrack. I also enjoy the gameplay but it can get boring as you spent a long time doing the same thing (taking over rackets). However, the good things about the game are being held down by the overexposed graphics of the game and the poor optimization. In this guide I will give my configuration for the game which help me to keep the game on a steady 60 Frames Per Second.

Nvidia Control Panel Settings

• Anisotropic filtering = 16x
  
• Antialiasing - Mode = Enhance the application setting
  
• Antialiasing - Setting = 2x
  
• Power management mode = Prefer maximum performance
  
• Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample option = Off
  
• Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias = Clamp
  
• Triple buffering = On
  
• Vertical sync = On

Game Settings

• Resolution = 1920 x 1080 (Own preference)
  
• FPS = Unlimited
  
• Depth of field = On
  
• Field of view = 85 Degrees (Own preference)
  
• VSync = Off
  
• Ambient occlusion (HBAO) = High
  
• Motion blur = Off
  
• Geometry detail = High
  
• Shadow quality = Medium
  
• Reflection quality = Low
  
• Volumetric effects = Low
  
• Antialiasing = High

Optional

Optional mods have been made for the game which "fix" the overwhelming lightning and colors. As this guide is meant for the performace and not the looks I suggest to reffer to two other guides made by other people shown below.

genuinely how do you have those menu options I only have controller settings

1 piece of advise is DXVK if you have an Nvidia GPU go for whisper mode and set the game in the gpu control panel to 60fps while for AMD is to go for chill mode and set the option to 60fps for the game this way the gpu can be chilled and the fps and fram pacing is smooth

This made the game a little smoother but I had to keep the fps limiter at 60.

thx for the guide but i can get constant 60 frames but this game hammers the CPU, if i don't lock it on 30 FPS, the CPU usage goes up to 80-90% and the temp rises to 80C idk wtf is wrong with this game
