Getting Started
Welcome to Warfork.

First: This is the best game you will ever master. Trust me!

Second: To get confusions out of the way: this is warsow with different sounds and everything copyright stuff related to warsow. Same game till other changes have been made.

Third: Mostly, this is a tryhard game, learn duel basics, read quake guides how to be better at duel, same rules apply here (with additions and other maps ofc). However, for ME (!!!) movement is what makes the difference in warsow. Be smooth, turn on music you love (LOUD!!!) and start boucing walljumps all over. Every gamemode is very different! Youll know what I mean pretty soon :)

So let's get started

P.S.: English is not my mother tounge so pls forgive me spelling and grammar errors

Updates:

08/22/19

- added motes old movemenschool tutorial movie for dash, walljump
- added more to race
- added video and other stuff to gametypes
- added more movies
- fixed some mistakes, changed some stuff
Settings
Yes, Warfork is a game where you need to set things. Don't worry, it won't be advanced IT stuff. Here are some hints:

You can choose your Nickname in the "Options -> Model" menue or by console \name
For colors check out the guide on steam

Videosettings

Settings depend on your machine and personal preference. More soon

with "use soldi colors for world" - on you can have full colors instead of detailed textures for even more visibility

use commands in console to change the appearence:

for all red use this (alter the numbers accordingly)

r_floorcolor 255 255 255
r_wallcolor 255 255 255

Keybindings

For movement, dash and walljump are rightclick on default, however I use rightclick to jump and space to dash/walljump

Bind your weapons! Here is my layout but of course this is up to you:

1 - Gunblade
2 - Maschingun
r - Rocket
q - Lasergun
e - Grenades
f - Electrobolt
v - Plasma
c - Riotgun

Playersettings

First I recommend using Brightskins and force an enemy color for more visibility

Movement Basics
In case you wonder why people are so fast here are some basics. My favourite movement tutorial so far is this here (credit to the editor!!).

Jumping

You can hold jump. No need to click all the time. You maintain your speed while jumping.

Dash/Walljump

Always start your movement with your dash key (same as walljump key). You will start with higher speed. Continue to jump afterwards.

This tutorial video is quite old but the basics still apply:

You can also change directions: look at the direction you want to turn and press dash instead of jump. Alternatively you can press w or d to dash sideways. Continue with jump.

You can dash and quickly walljump afterwards, dash and walljump have seperate cooldowns

Press Walljump key while at a wall to bounce.

As mentioned above, you can quickly dash after walljump.

Strafeing

This is you main source of speed. More will follow

Rampjump

When landing on a ramp and jump/dash you gain a lot of speed, the higher you fall the higher the speed you get

Rampslide

You can slide ramps up and down, no need to hold a button.

Rocketjump

As the name says, you jump higher, gain more speed using knockback from rockets. Here is a tutorial video:

Plasmaclimb/Grenade Jump

Plasmaclimb

You can "climb" walls with the plasma gun. Advanced stuff!

Grenade Jump

Place the jump while grenades explode and you fly higher... seems logic

Here is a video of both above (sorry for old quality, still applies)

Gunblade Jump

Treat Gunblade the same as rocketlauncher but with less knockback. You can still fly ;)

Slide

Some surfaces have ice. Don't jump and move around to gain speed quickly. More soon
Gametypes
See the Warfork Shopsite to see all the "official" gametypes, however there are lots of custom ones. I wont explain all of the gametypes here, just mention some "specials" about them.

And guys... please respect the concept of the map, don't try to play duel on a ctf map. You won't have as much fun!

Clan Arena

Its fast paced since you dont have selfdamage and mostly big maps so you can rocketjump around like crazy, have fun :)

Here is a video for CA movement (the speed comes from the above round "ramps" you hit when rocket/grenade jumping, hit the ceiling at the right angle, move accorindly and you gain a lot of speed)

FFA

Usual deathmatch but you start with all weapons.

Bomb

CS GO without buysystem. Also, TEAMDAMAGE IS ON!!

Press shift (default) for voice meue.

Gladiator

Short rounds FFA with max 4 players, the first who get killed need so spectate next round, just survive. Weapon will be randomly determend at start.

Midair

You can only kill opponents while they are in the air. Aircontrol is off.

Race

Name says it all, make sure to bind kill (console -> bind b kill). Race as fast as you can from start to finish.

Racemod

This is Race but with improvements:

press shift to open your race menue (like save your position in case you want to start over somewhere else, which is recommended for advanced runs)

esc -> race options lead you to "global" settings

There is a main racemod with additonal commands, type /help to see the list of options

Amphi

Amphi is a map to train LG/Plasma/Riot/Rocket in a small area

Community

Altough Warfork is something new now I hope to see the same rules applied to what "Warsow" had in mind: respect and sportsmanship on the web. Since uhm, 2005 (?) this community existed despite being told "THIS GAME IS DEAD!". I think it never was because of community and its helpfullness. So get involved, this is not CS:GO! Have fun and see you around :)

Discord

https://discord.gg/VY95TKZ
Chat and Voicechat, also used for pickup games at the moment, see below

There is a lessons channel as well, don't hesitate to ask people!

Pickup games

On discord, #pickup, you can add yourself to a game with the command !add gametype. If you want to add to bomb just type !add bomb. You will be placed in a match by a bot. Once enough players have added you will be given a server address and a password. To connect press ^(console). Type connect ip

Other commands:

!who - you can see hows in the q
!lastgame - see the last game that was played

This is a perfect guide for beginners, very detailed but yet easy to follow and it covers anything a new player should keep in mind when starting with the game!

Thanks for putting your effort into this same ; )

Seems like RGB values for map colour commands are supposed to be in quotes (red green blue). e.g. to set it to two shades of gray:
r_floorcolor "70 70 70"
r_wallcolor "40 40 40"
