DGSM - Duplicants Generation Settings Manager

With this mod you can control which exactly traits, attributes and stress reaction will have your starting Duplicants crew! It won't make game easer, but will allow to achieve same thing as you would do in 100+ re-rolls! :)

This will save you a lot of time - no more rerolling needed!

Vanilla + DLC.


Interests points distribution:
As you can read from wiki: https://oxygennotincluded.fandom.com/wiki/Duplicant Base points for interest are:
  • 7 - when a Duplicant have only 1 interest
  • 3 - for each when you have 2 interests
  • 1 - for each when you have 3 interests
However, some Negative will add additional points and some Positive traits will decrease the total value by some amount (i.e. you could get +17 Science for example).
If you want those to affect your interest values - check options:
  • Count in generated by Positive traits points (to make game harder)
  • Count in generated by Negative traits points (to make game easer)
Those settings intended to be ON by game developers, but you can adjust your settings for your needs. Here also an example for most hard and most easy setup of options:





Additional Settings
  • Optiom to count in or not Positive / Negative traits points towards total value for interest
  • Option to Unlock all Duplicants Personalities for the Starting Duplicants crew selection
  • Choose how much starting Duplicants you will have when creating new colony. Want to be a lone wolf? No Problem!
  • Choose Duplicants traits (including overjoy reactions) for those who spawned in game (printing pod). For those, who want to make game easer.
  • Choose how many cycles should pass for Printing Pod able to print again (you can hold shift to add\remove 10 cycles at once)
  • Preset Management for Starting Duplicants (save / load)
  • Preset will store information about visual, name and all stats for each of starting Duplicant
  • Sbility Re-roll option for Printing POD (each choice can be re-rolled individually including Care Packages)
  • Option to Disable positive traits for Duplicants (this will affect only new printed Duplicants, do not affect existing)
  • Option to Disable negative traits for Duplicants (this will affect only new printed Duplicants, do not affect existing)
  • Option to print only care packages if you already have X alive Duplicants
  • Support for multiple positive / negative traits to be edited
  • Ability to always have fixed amount of positive / negative traits (for example always have 3 positive traits)
  • Ability to print Duplicants with fixed amount of interests (from 0 to 3). This can make game not only easer, but harder as well - if you set fixed interests amount to 0. All Duplicants will be printed without interests and stress management again become as thingy!

To activate: subscribe to mod, then activate it in "Mods" list, from game starting screen. Restart will require.


Coming soon options
  • Surprice me - option which will cover all traits for Duplicants selection, so you won't know what Duplicant it will be unless you get him. For those, who want to make game harded.
  • Ability to choose how Duplicant looks like.


-----> Troubleshooting <-----
All reports should be done via github: https://github.com/O-n-y/oxy.mods
  • Make sure you activated mod in Mods list in-game and restarted the game.
  • Make sure you use the last version of mod, to do so: use my other mod Mod Manager and use Update button in mods list to force update mod via Mod Manager, which will require a game restart (Steam can often give you outdated version, my mod made to solve this).
    You can check current actual version number in changelog here:

    And you can check which version of the mod you exactly have by checking .dll version inside the mod folder: \mods\Steam\1843965353\
  • If you have game error/crash and have other mods, disable those mods, restart the game (or it won't take any effect) and try again.

Hightly recommended subscribing to make your life a lot easier!
  • Mod Manager - control over your mods, see mods version, auto-updated (even when Steam gives cached version), enable/disable all by one button, mods backups, ability to open a local mod folder (useful when mod have config in files) and much more!

    once activated it will show console window and display all information pushed to console by game or mods, including all errors they have!

For all players who have issues

The game with mod is running fine and smooth with current version of the game.
If you still certain there is a bug, do report it properly as it was told many times before.

And before doing so
* make sure you are really have the last mod version which is 3.6.7.37 and not outdated one (Steam do have caceh issues).
* make sure you do not have other thirds party mod, which broke the one you want report as not working.

Hey. Sorry to bother you with this. I didn't play in a while but I've noticed it during the time I've used your mod. There is this thing where the mod changes, the UI, the saved duplicant templates. Now, for example, the mod is in it's "barebone" stage. Sometimes it's really nice, I can even have teams of more than 3 duplicants, all edited. I can save a template and keep printing the same one without editing. Was I using another mod? duplicant stat selector? and they worked together and now since that one doesn't work, this one downgraded? Great mod, btw, love your work!

Bug report #2 -- again related to strength traits

If you have a toon with more than 1 trait ... you can use the Strength hack to increase traits.

Suppose you have traits, that include 1 of the strength traits
(In this case, Tidying)

Suit Wearing 2
Tidying 1
Decorating 3


If you then update another trait to be a strength trait
Example: Decorating->Supplying
The new traits list looks like this

Suit Wearing 2
Tidying 3
Supplying 3

Which is now persistent, and survives future changes

I wish it would give the ability to freely add/remove extra interests and traits excluding in the config settings (and the ability to increase the interest bonus) ((If this is already a feature then ignore me ^^))

Ony, it is not working. The easiest and most reliable way to get it to crash is when you get new dupes, click the little gear that brings up DGSM and it crashes every single time.

@Ram it is working for Steam game version current one and the one for sure, the older one (before patch [596100] February 2024 Quality of Life update!)

Tho, i do not remember if there were capatibility updates. Usually there is no need to support such in general as it is outdated.

fully compatible with the last game patch:
