Faction Armor Colors - Better Colormaps

Description
How is this different than other color mods?

Most of them dye armor using the existing colormaps in the game - a splotch on the chest, a spot on the head.

I have redone (or created new) colormaps for most of the armor in the game - so now the entire armor gets colored.

This mod is really great! I love the new colormaps and being able to finally color my own armor!
I ran into an issue where Leather shirt-slot items couldn't be crafted. I noticed that this was an issue with the mod that's since been fixed (Change notes say it was in 2022). Has anyone else encountered this issue since that change?

(sorry had to split this reply)

I've also read that what is supposed to happen is that special recruits with a non-Drifter faction (like Kang being part of the Shek Kingdom) are supposed to retain their original colors, which would also be true for any recruited through a recruitable prisoners mod. This would seem to imply that your game is actually working as intended. Ironically enough, mine changes all recruits' colors to my faction's default on save/reload, but retains previously dyed gear, so I have a short window of time to dye with the new recruit's faction colors if I want to. I actually wish my game worked the way yours does so I could easily have more variety without having to try to dye everything before I save and load. Sigh, Kenshi.

SirCuttlefish1 that is definitely odd. Reminds me though, in the years I've been playing Kenshi, I've seen a lot of weird inconsistency around armor coloring. My leather turtlenecks randomly stopped getting dyed at one point and I looked for solutions everywhere, found nothing, and no one who tried to help was able to reproduce it. I didn't even have any mods then — trying to solve it was what led me to the first mod I ever installed, which is this one right here. (It didn't fix it either, lol)

@Cavanoskus Oddly yes. I even tried importing my save and this issue still persists. They won't stop applying their old colors. I've been having my first character dye every peace of armor before distribution as a work around. It does the job but it's a little inconvenient.

SirCuttlefish1 they usually retain their old colors until you reload the game. This mod does not affect that functionality.

Have you tried equipping gear on the recruits again after saving and reloading? Do they still have their old colors then?

I've run into a strange bug. It seems that NPCs recruited from other factions (using recruit prisoners mod) retain their old colors. The odd thing is that this seems to be new development because it was not an issue with my last play-through. If anyone one has any advice that could help it would very much be appreciated.

Is there any chance we might get a separate version of this mod that only adds the better colormaps & doesn't add any extra items like the Martial Artist Chain Wrap?

Cavanoskus: thank you, i am on some new meds now and things are possibly getting better. As for the community spotlight... yeah, I dunno, that would've been nice but it seems not many people ever found out about or use this mod so maybe they go by current subscribers or something. I had fun making it anyway, i hope to update it for the fixes sometime soon. It's been so long i need to re-learn how to do it right.

And if Kenshi 2 has the same monotone uniformity, i'll make it for the sequel too =)
