Reason: TTS map reveal multiplayer sync issues never fixed, third party assets lost

For years, players of stealth combat games have been duping moronic, short-sighted guards with ease. But now the tables have turned: Do you have what it takes to hunt down the Main Character?

In Tactical Espionage Action you play as a team of terrorists who have taken over a chemical plant, possibly to produce weapons of mass destruction. The Infiltrator, played by the Game Master, has been sent to obtain information on the terrorist’s plans by accessing the corporate computers on the top floor of the complex. As terrorist guards, the other players must cooperate to hunt the Infiltrator down. Their ammunition, indeed their very lives, are replaceable, but their vision is short, and so is their time. Can they stop the Infiltrator from leaving with the data?

Yes, this game is clearly inspired by Metal Gear. Have fun with it.

Playtime is anywhere from an hour to several, depending on how quickly players move. In a 2-player game, one player uses the entire team of guards, but with additional players these can be distributed which would speed up turns.

When moving characters, please bear in mind that the models will attempt to jump over the arches over doorways and get stuck. Tilt the camera behind the direction of movement so that your mouse can go from one side of the door to the other without crossing the arch and you should be fine. Copying and pasting should only be for moving between floors; stand directly on the ladders or in front of the stairs to do so.

NOTE: As of the last update, saved games in multiplayer are corrupted on load. This was due to the recently-added TTS fog of war mechanic being incomplete or incorrectly coded. Though this may change at any time with TTS updates, it is recommended that all games be conducted within one session. Players should budget at least 3-4 hours for it.

The rule book might need a bit of spellchecking. some might not be able to tell from context what a line likely was supposed to mean, like cost of moving while crouched appearing twice but for different action point cost, or "Hiding in a box or locker - point".

I tried playing this just now with some random people, but they had to abandon to leave to go eat.

Is there an approximate gametime on this? It seems like it takes quite a few turns for things to get going, especially if the infiltrator decides to enter via the sewers. Like within the first 3 turns or so we still had no clue where the infiltrator could be, and then it was revealed that they were still in the sewers collecting items. Perhaps we were putting too much thought into each turn and making it go slower than we should have.

I'm going to try this again with my friends though most likely.

Bit of an update. Shrunk the cards considerably so that it's much, much easier to place them into containers on the map.

TTS seems to have massive trouble loading models with different states inside of a FOW zone when it's a save state. As it is, you can't reliably save this game so long as any soldiers are in the hidden zone. As soon as you reload, they'll fail to load in and get dropped. No idea, can't avoid it. Either move the men out and have the GM record positions/weapons, or stick to one-session plays.

Been running into one of the most confusing and elusive bugs ever experienced on this platform: Three of the custom tokens are having strange failures to load, first the previews on top of bags, and then on re-loading a save. This only shows up for the clients; the host may get a failure to load message when loading up a save, but the tokens are intact. I changed the files involved but it had no effect. I'll keep looking for solutions but in the meantime it's a nuisance.

Just updated the rulebook a bit, clarifying some things about movement. It costs more points to move forward and strafing/backpedalling while crouched and prone. This makes it very slow to move through vents or across noise areas, as it should be.

The Main Character/Infiltrator must be played by the Game Master. Only the GM can see through walls with the current fog of war system. The character model is set to be invisible to all other players except when in line of sight. When an object is hidden, but the GM can see it, it will have a light gray outline. That's your cue to know that you're safe. Sometimes it bugs out a bit and will disappear, but if you pick up and drop the model in place it'll reset.

When I move the Operator, he just vanishes and I can't find him.
