Darkest Dungeon Board Game (Unofficial)

Description
Darkest Dungeon Board Game. Now Includes scripting!
More balance updates and content updates are coming.

Rules: (Better written rule book now in the game!)
Goal: Clear 6 rooms (Medium Squares), and then fight the boss in the middle.
When fighting the boss, draw one of the boss cards and then draw 3 random monsters.

Everyone starts with 2 food and 1 torch and 2 camp cards.
5 gold for random loot card
10 gold for 2 food and 1 torch.

Roll to decide who goes first, then go clockwise.

Each turn either move one tile, or play a card.

When a player moves into a non-room squard (Small Squares), draw an event card.

If a players moves during his turn, at the end of the turn he loses 1 light.
If a player has 5-8 Light, that player attacks before the monsters.

Monsters attack left to right.
When in combat, shuffle the ability cards you have (1 for each Hero you have alive) And then draw 2. You can play one, or play a different card that is playable during combat, then discard non-played ability cards.

After every player attack, a monster attacks.
Health is permanent.

When a player moves into another players tile, they fight, the player with lower stress attacks first, if they are tied, roll.

If a player dies, they roll, if the stress is 1-4, they need to roll a 5+, if they have more than 4 stress, they need to roll a 6.
If their roll is successful, they heal by the amount indicated on their card.

When deciding a random target, roll the D4. If they target a dead target, roll again.

Scripting:
Start Button: Gives all players the required items to start the game, except the correct ability cards, pick those up.
Fight Button: Does the monsters fighting for you, selects a target and rolls to hit that target.

I'm testing this with a friend and we are kind of confused with ability cards right now. It says non-used ability cards back in deck and shuffle but what happens with the one I used? Is it discarded and if I end up discarding them all overtime, how do I get them back? And can you only attack with ability cards?

The real owners of the IP have a proper game on Kickstarter. I'd remove this all before you get a Cease and Desist.

Hey, I have been working on a proper game for one of my board game designs that I plan to put on steam. This has caused me to stop working on this project.
If anyone would like to continue working on this project, or something similar, contact me via discord NoteMEdown#4176 and I can send you all the assets from this game ( All the card templates .psd files )

@Faust Thanks for the feedback! And when playing it with friends I actually did spawn in little checkers to cover up cleared rooms, so I should probably do something similar for this.
And this is a very good idea for combat, feel free to try that way of doing things with your friends, and letting me know how it feels!
And lastly, ill try to clear that up in the rules, thanks again for the great feedback

Hi ! I still have to test it with friends but I can share some thoughts from my solo testing :
- You could add tokens either to represent cleared rooms or to represent trophies placed on medium rooms at the start of the game. Could help to see what is cleared or not.
- Shuffle your ability deck, play a card, flip it, place it on the deck then flip the remaining card and place it. Doing this every round is kinda bothersome and a bit clunky. Maybe you could draw the entire ability deck, play one unique ability every round and have to play all hero before drawing back the ability deck (I hope that I'm clear ><). It could add some strategy and planning during players fights, knowing which hero may attack and which one you should focus.
- I see you have used the base structure from Isaac: Four Souls, but you haven't really explained it in your rules. It isn't clear how to read a card and what attack rolls stand for.

Just uploaded a new original board game called "World Politics".
It has some very interesting and unique mechanics, fun when fighting 3 of your friends.
