Just in case: the "userdata" folder is located on the same drive where Steam is installed, so probably on your OS drive. For most people, it should be located here: [C:/Program Files/Steam/userdata/"your account number"/50300/remote/]
Have you ever considered talking about this to your local doctor? This could only be a matter of sensibility (i.e. visual discomfort), but imagine if it's potentially worse, that's probably better to get it diagnosed, don't you think?
Anyway, I'm glad that you are willing to discover what comes after that specific sequence, because the game is worth it IMHO.
You mean the sequences where the light goes on and off while you're under attack? If my memory is good, this is the only chapter that features this kind of visual discomfort. If we do talk about the same sequences, I thought that this effect was both very disturbing and very efficient at putting a fair amount of pressure on the player who already has to deal with some pretty heavy fire!
